We only live 30mins away but despite hearing lots of good things about the Crab House we hadn't made it down there, as a belated anniversary meal we decided to give it a go.
If you want to eat somewhere with an amazing relaxed atmosphere which is completely unpretentious and just all about the food this is the place for you! My husband likes fish but was not sure if he would enjoy an entirely 'fish menu' but he hasn't stopped talking bout it since!
Beautiful selection of starters (in fact we could both have eaten a few of these as a main)
Thai fish cakes were flavoursome and lovely, the queen scallops were beautifully and simply cooked and were a very generous portion of 8! We had the skate and chorizo for main and the sea bream and sea bass fillets in a citrus sauce - both amazing! Such fresh fish, we both chose chips to go with them which were really tasty (perhaps could have been slightly less blonde)
The crab house ale was perfect too, we both went for pudding and these were a perfect end to the meal - I had the cucumber pannacotta with strawberry soup which I thought was amazing and my husband went for the blackberry Eton mess.
Seriously cannot recommend it more highly - service was friendly and efficient. Can't wait to go back! Cost was £80 for 2 :-)
