Have eaten several times at the Trout with family, and never been disappointed. One is tempted to describe it as 'good old fashioned Yorkshire fayre' but it's better than that. There's a good choice at a good price. The welcome is warm and unhurried and the staff are very obliging. The quality and quantity of the food is reliable. Ask what they recommend and they'll tell you what's in. Don't expect a wine waiter proffering a bottle; the waitress, the boss, or her husband (Keith), will bring you a glass of whichever colour wine you want, and it's very drinkable. OK,the decor is a bit old, but you're in East Yorkshire for goodness sake! Good car park, choice of two bars for apéritifs, clean loos.
