I booked this hotel just a few days in advance, and needed a twin room suitable for myself and my elderly mother. The room rate was a little more than I expected to pay, but there was little else available. But it was worth every penny. On arrival we were greeted warmly by proprietor Steve, who then showed us to the room downstairs, and instructed Mum on how to use the all-important stair lift. He then brought us a large pot of tea, which went down well after our journey. Our room was fine, if well-filled - two comfortable beds, ample storage space, and a roomy bathroom with large shower area. It isn't a walk-in shower - you need to negotiate a step - and I suggested to Steve that a grab rail or two would be helpful. The delicious breakfast next morning was cooked to order, and served in the light and spacious dining room. I would point out that, although the room is served by a stair lift, the access (via a rear door) does include three steps, so some mobility is needed. In our case this was fine - Mum may be in her nineties but she could cope with these steps. The inside stair lift, however, was vital as she would not have easily negotiated the stairs. Being able to park at the back of the hotel, as users of this room, was also a bonus. Thank you, Steve and Jane, for a most pleasant stay.
