We had dinner at the pig. It started so well, 'would we like a drink in the bar before going to our table?' Yes please! That was the most relaxed it got. About 2 mins after getting our pre dinner drink, they then came and asked to take our food orders so we explained we hadn't even looked at the menu yet. Feeling bad, we said we would go to the table and order.
From then it was rush rush rush- you could barely finish your last mouthful before plates were whisked away and either the mains came or you were pushed to have desert. At first we thought maybe they were over attentive- the staff were all really lovely, really polite, and very well mannered- but actually we just realised they were desperately trying to turn over tables.
Its such a shame because the food, atmosphere, location is all great- but at this price point you don't want to feel like you are on a conveyor belt. We were on and off the table in under an hour!! My advice if you go there is be bullish and don't let them rush you- we shouldn't have been so nice and should have pushed back on them to give us space to breathe!
To any vegetarians- options are limited, so if you are the type of vegetarian that isn't happy to work around a menu then this isn't the place for you. I was happy to just get the meat taken out of dishes and the chef was happy to comply.
As a final note, they were so rushed that they forgot to charge us for the lovely bottle of wine we consumed, so we ended up walking away happy.
