Great place to stay, very friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble. Brockenhurst itself has plenty of places to eat and the New Forest right on the door step. will deffinately return.

Spent 2 nights at the Cottage Lodge. There must be hundreds of places to stay in the New Forest and we picked this place at random because it looked nice and was reasonably priced!. And I have to say I was impressed. All the staff were very friendly. Our room - the Bolderwood - was clean, warm and comfortable with a large ensuite wet room. There were so many nice touches. Coffee & tea was provided in the room and thankfully there were no UHT milk cartons - you collect fresh milk from the 'snug' in jugs for your room, available at all times. Breakfast is sourced locally, wherever possible. Nice sausages! They don't have Sky or Cable, but there is a video/DVD library in the restaurant to borrow from (free) to watch in your room. All in all, we'd definitely stay here again next time we go to the New Forest!

Very impressive and excellent value. There are so many thoughtful extras, and the emphasis on local suppliers is to be applauded. We have stayed in bed and breakfasts around the country, and none beats this for value. We got far more than we were expecting. Thanks to all involved.

Our second visit to Cottage Lodge, and despite the cold weather we had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly, our room was warm and cosy and the New Forest breakfasts very enjoyable. We will be back !

We stayed at the Cottage Lodge for one night in the Boulderwood Room. We were fully aware that this would be a small room, but as it was just for one night, it was perfect. Being in the New Forest, we weren't intending to spend any significant amount of time in the room anyway. It was a bright room, with its own entrance to the side of the B&B. DVDs and Videos were available to borrow if we required. We had a warm and friendly greeting, which set the standard of the service for the rest of our stay. They had a variety of local suggested New Forest walks availale to borrow, which we found very useful. Also a selection of menus from a wide number of local restaurants / pubs / eateries complete with a Guests comments book to read reviews...however as with most things, it's generally the negative that people feel the need to mention ! Still, we went for a French Restaurant, where the food was great. The Snug bar was a good idea, and nice to get back from a walk to just chill by a fire with a drink. When there was no Tonic for the Gin, we were quickly attended to and extra was put in the fridge, along with some small bowls of crisps to snack on - nice touch. Breakfast was very good - we didn't have a full English but there was enough variety and they were happy to cook other plates which weren't mentioned on the menu. All in all we would definately return here if we visited this part of the country again.
