“Excellent spa shame about the hotel rooms”

Country House Hotel New Park Manor

This is our second stay at this hotel I love the spa it has a wonderful hot tub outside with relaxing views to the forest and horses. However, I will not be returning after another terrible room, for the high cost of the rooms I am surprised the hotel does not receive lots of complaints. Our room was pokey, had no shower, dodgy toilet and terribly marked carpet from a leaking radiator. The biscuits and tea making facilities are welcoming to your room but do not change the fact that the rooms do not meet standards expected from this type of high quality hotel.

“Total disappointment - I'd never recommend it”

Country House Hotel New Park Manor

Not sure how our stay at this hotel could have been worse. Room rate was £215 a night. This got us an unmodernised pokey room with walls so thin that we were kept awake all night by the man in the room next door snoring!! The unmodernised bathroom didn't have a shower and was so small the sink had to be squeezed in by the bed, the bath plug was broken and the door handle was falling apart. The room was cold - the plug-in heater (turned off when we arrived late at night) would have been funny if the room wasn't so expensive. There were no dressing gowns and no furnishings like those in the hotel's more pleasant communal areas. Total disappointment. By 6.30am I'd lost patience and called reception to be told that I should have been warned what the room was like when I booked it. Unbelievable. For our second night of our weekend break, we had to find a last-minute room in a nearby hotel just to get a night's sleep. It's only saving grace is the fantastic restaurant, but you can get a 5-minute cab to it from another hotel in the local area. I am still awaiting a response to my complaint made 2 months ago.

“Fantastic Break”

We booked our stay in the New Manor Park Hotel based on a review we found via an internet search engine, a risk which certainly paid off as our stay in this delightful hotel was pure bliss.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly, if a little timid, receptionist who showed us to our room. We had a loft room in the old part of the house, which we found to be full of character, very clean and comfortable. We ordered lunch from the Polo Bar menu and were served in the lounge. The portions were generous, food very tasty and service efficient.

We made our way to the spa - with it's steam room, two saunas, pool, hydro pool and hot tub, it definitely deserves the various awards it's won. We had the place to ourselves for the first hour, and whilst the spa was busier during the remainder of our stay, it never felt crowded. My boyfriend and I both had a massage and facial, and found the beauticians to be skilled and very friendly.

Dinner, in the Stag restaurant, didn't disappoint and was the icing on the cake. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service excellent.

We will definitely be returning to this hotel spa, it's ideal for either a girly or romantic break.

I booked this hotel for my sister and I. We came to the hotel after spending a day walking in the New Forest. First impressions - I was a bit disappointed that the place looked so small and unimpressive after looking at all the wonderful photos on their website.

The receptionist was very helpful and showed us to the room. We had a Forest Room which is a contemporary room over the spa, overlooking the forest. The room was what is I suppose an average sized hotel room ie quite small. However, it was very clean and very well decorated and kitted out. The forest was not up close and heaving with Bambis, as their website showed, there were fields between us and the trees, with wire fences.

We ordered some champagne to be brought to the room, which arrived quickly, but alas it arrived on a dirty tray which was a shame, and with a small chip in my glass. I didnt want to complain and embarrass my sister who hadnt noticed. We went down to the spa which was excellent. Very up to date and luxurious. We especially loved the outdoor hot tub - great to sit outdoors in the cold inside the hot bubbly water.

We had dinner in the Stag restaurant, it was really lovely, the staff were very efficient and attentive, we had no complaints, it was a tasty and very enjoyable meal.

Had a good nights sleep, comfy beds and very quiet. Dashed out to the spa for a swim and sauna before breakfast. Breakfast was fine - I had a peek at the continental and decided the Full English was much the best option and would keep us going all day.

We were sad to leave. We had a lovely time, all the staff were efficient, cheerful and helpful. I would definitely go back there again.

“Superb Valentines Night Package”

Tranquil setting in the New Forest...I'm local and know the place fairly well but have never stayed until a romantic gesture came my way.
My partner organised an overnight stay and I have to say I was bowled over at the attention to detail and ambience of the place, lovely, helpful staff and fabulous food.
We had a large room in the old part of the Manor house, 'Duchess of Richmond room' if memory serves me well...overlooking beautiful parkland. Champagne on ice as ordered awaited us in the room along with superb pre-ordered roses. The bedrooms may be in need of a little style update but frankly it really didn't matter, everything else was wonderful.
The icing on the cake was a full massage treatment in their very smart spa facilities before dinner, and they will do two of you together!
Dinner was served in the main dining room, not too formal but special nonetheless..the food exceeded expectations... champagne as an aperitif ..a set menu that had been made into a scroll tied with a red ribbon, with choices to be made on 2 of the courses .. a wrapped single red rose for the ladies to keep, candlelight and tiny sparkling hearts to decorate the table. We couldn't fault the package they had put together for romantic couples.... even a champagne breakfast the following morning with extensive choices.
The hotel has a charming way for guests to show they don't want to be disturbed, you place a stuffed toy forest pony outside the door...needless to say the corridors were awash with them the next day, very amusing!
Well done .. we'll be back!
