Set in a wonderful position overlooking Bude, and offering breakfast (great choice!) and comfort as good as any, this is one we really would like to go back to. Run with efficiency, friendliness and professionalism by 5 members of the same extended family who take every step to ensure that clients enjoy their stay and in a very relaxed and informal way. An added bonus was the mere 5 minute walk to an excellent meal at "Life's a Beach".

Room Tip: Have a sea view room if possible!

Stayed at the edgcumbe hotel for two nights in a room overlooking Summerleaze Beach. The room was beautifully decorated and accessorised in the fashion of a beach house. The family members running the hotel were exceptionally friendly with loads of good advice as to where to eat in the evenings and good places to visit in the area. The breakfasts were delicious with lots of choice. Stay here again? You bet!.

Room Tip: Try and get a sea view room.

The Edgcumbe is a great place. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated, the breakfast was excellent and the hosts were very friendly. There seemed to be lots of people staying who had stayed before which is always a good sign.

The only thing they need to sort out are the doors! Getting in to the hotel at night is not easy as the lock is really difficult and the hotel is in a very windy spot so doors slam quite a bit. The door to our room rattled all night in the wind ( we had to open the window a little as the room was warm). We came so close to asking to be moved but in the end made a make-shift door stop.

Despite this we would still strongly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bude.

Stayed here after getting the details from Bude tourist info. And what a find it was! The staff here make this place special they all make you feel so welcome and are helpful and friendly in all aspects of a stay in Bude.
Breakfast is fab, with a choice of fresh fruits and cereals to start followed by toast and choices of cooked breakfast (veggie and lighter options also available), the bar was opened throughout the day for coffee etc this later progressed to karge G and T's as the day went on.... Would thoroughly recommend this comfortable well placed guesthouse for a stay in Bude!

Emma and the team certainly helped make our 4 day stay a memorable experience. They were all very happy and friendly and certainly went out of their way to please us. Their service was extremely good and nothing was too much. We arrived late on our first night and Emma rang around local restaurants to see who was still open for a meal. On another evening one of our family was sick so we decided not to go out to a local restaurant so Emma set up the dining room complete with candles and wine glasses ready for our takeway. The included breakfast has style and variety. We will certainly stay here again.

Very friendly staff and fantastic breakfast! The couple that run this establishment are friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable with fantastic views. They also offer a lot of advice on local things to do.

Highly recommended and we will definately be going back!
