“fantastic hotel and gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Debbie and the team at the falcon are fantastic, we married at bude registry office, and stayed with family and 2 friends at the falcon after, the drinks and food on arrival were 1st class, the garden room and gardens were the perfect setting for all our wedding photos, our room was room 1.. wow, queen size bed, jacuzi style bath with calming colour changing lights, massive t.v on wall, swan towels on the bed, we overlooked the gardens, just perfect, our friends and family just down the corridor, again lovely bright rooms, one had doors opening onto massive balcony overlooking the canal, the family room was lovely and bright, design was lovely, and crab shaped towels on the bed, food was fantastic value and excellant. we have wonderful memories to take away thanks to Debbie, her team and the lovely falcon hotel.

Just spent several nights at the Falcon Hotel. I would stay again. Top notch facilities, very comfortable, clean, and quaint. Friendly, professional staff make this hotel worth returning to. The location is wonderful. The food is excellent. The pub with occasional live music are outstanding.

Room Tip: Rooms 30 and 31 are superb with updated baths. Up a flight of stairs, but well worth it!

We have just enjoyed a 4 day break at this charming hotel. The food is very good, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Our room was large and the bed very comfortable, I usually can't wait to get back to my own bed at home, but I would have gladly dragged this bed back home with me. It's quiet in the restaurant at night but I think this hotel suffers as all hotels do that the public think they are not going to get good food, but I ate the best scallops I've ever eaten here. The breakfasts are enormous, the coffee is good and the butter is something special (a local provider I understand, something the hotel seems to support). The bar is also a bit quiet for the above reason, but has good beer and wine. The only "fault", but one which I personally don't care about, is the decor is behind the times, but well maintained and clean, all I want is a comfortable bed, good shower, good food, a bit of peace & quiet at night and good customer service, all of which we got here. The view from the front of the hotel is excellent, the windows are the old sash type and rattled during the heavy storm, but there are wedges provided.Overall, this is worth a visit and we'll definitely be returning.

Room Tip: The view from the front rooms is very good but deliveries do arrive early (I think 6.30 on the first...

have just spent 4 nights at the Falcon hotel in Bude Cornwall, 1st Class in every way, from Rooms, to food and not forget the excellent staff..
The setting for this hotel is also 1st class it stands on side of Canal and 5mins from Beach.
The food is excellent having started with Breakfast that has everything possible on offer, then dinner at night with a very good Menu and plenty of choice.
So with all the Hotels I have stayed in this hotel is up with the best of them, and well worth a visit
should. you be in North Cornwall.

Stopped for lunch after a mornings coast path walking. Sat outside overlooking the canal, nice setting. Staff were nice, very efficient in what they do. Lunch was lovely. Real beef sandwiches with lovely fresh salad and crisps. A homemade soup with fresh rolls and a pot of butter. Will return again in the future.

Spent 6 nights in the hotel and enjoyed every day. The ocean/breakwater is a 5 minute walk and so is the town. Also an excellent location for walking along the canal and then over the cliffs to Widemouth Bay. The breakfast was excellent, service friendly, and the bar serves real ale which is well kept. It is a quiet location.
Only had one evening meal with 6 people , excellent pub grub. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Some have superb views. Only downside might be the limited parking during the busy summer months ...but that applies to everywhere in Bude. However a large town car park is nearby for 5 pounds a day.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the canal are best.
