“Fantastic location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

We stayed here at the end of October. Will and Helen were extremely welcoming and made our stay very special. The rooms were spacious, comfy and very clean. The breakfasts were delicious and set us up for our days out. The location was fantastic, near to the beach, with great views from the bedroom. We will be returning.

Our first guest house on our 3 week tour, and although rooms small and a bit dated we felt very welcome and made to feel at home.Breakfast was better than some of the bigger hotels we stayed at spotlessly clean .We choose this guest house because it is just up the hill from the beach and round the corner from shops and restaurants.
Unfortunatly the weather changed and we did not get to the beach.
Our room had no view so if booking try and get a sea view it is worth it.

Room Tip: Back room we had overlooked a courtyard no view at all Try to get a sea view it worth it

My niece and I stayed for two nights here at the beginning of August on my first ever trip to Cornwall. The breakfast was delicious and substantial, everywhere was spotlessly clean and the owners were friendly and helpful. The location is great, right near both the town and the sea. I would definitely come again, in fact it was the second time for my niece, who had already been in July for a night with her partner. Their lovely dog Megan is an added bonus!!

A lovely location in centre of Bude, beach in walking distance. We stayed in the superior twin room with panoramic views of the canal and sea. Room was spacious and comfortable with seating in bay window. Breakfast was excellent and hosts extremely welcoming and friendly including Megan the family dog who was seen waddling about. All in all a memorable first holiday in a lovely part of Cornwall. Will certainly recommend to others and hopefully have a return visit.

Room Tip: pay a minimal extra for a superior room with the views

We stayed for one night whilst walking some of the South West Coast Path. It's easy to find and in a great location overlooking the beach. Helen gave us a warm and friendly welcome and showed us to a very clean, comfortable and simply furnished room. Breakfast was delicious and they were happy to let us eat breakfast a little earlier than standard so we could be on our way early.

The Grosvenor's website accurately describes the establishment. A guesthouse with the feel of a small hotel.

We stayed for two nights (8th & 9th June) that coincided with glorious weather (always a help).

The rooms and public areas are very clean. Our room (4) was simply and tastefully furnished. Nice high ceilings and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The ensuite had a full size bath which was great to lie out in following a long day spent walking. There are pleasant views over the Downs and canal.

The room key also lets you in the front door if Will and Helen aren't about so, when the weather in inclement you can make use of the guest lounge at any time. Although we didn't make use of it there is also a small bar.

Parking is either in front of the house or in the road (no charge).

Breakfast was a choice of the fare that you would expect making use of local produce. Will is an excellent cook so the full English should set you up for the day.

Both Will and Helen are excellent hosts and will recommend local restaurants for lunch or dinner. Being quite central, local beaches, pubs and, restaurants are all within walking distance.

Definitely, a place we will return to and for a longer visit next time

Megan the dog is also a dear. You may be lucky to meet her in the lounge!

Booked a last minute bank holiday weekend getaway for the family and picked the Grosvenor pretty much at random, thankfully the family suite was the one room free! Positioned on the edge of the beach with fantastic views out over the bay, it was perfect for a family beach holiday. The welcome was second to none, Helen and Will were incredibly friendly and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was great and set us up nicely for the day. We were all very sad to leave on the Monday. I'd certainly recommend it.
