Pretty property, nicely furnished, clean, breakfast was quite nice, very welcoming and helpful. Recommended a great Italian place to eat - ciros. Good base for visiting many places in Scotland.

I organised and took a group of 11 Spanish adults for their first time to Scotland. We stayed at this beautful, comfortable small hotel for 5 nights over Easter. The owners, Isabel and Fraser, could not have been more attentive and friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the food and service was excellent. We all had a great time and Callander is one of the cleanest, safe, breathtaking places I have ever visited. The people in the shops, pubs and public amenities were a credit to Scottish tourism.
We were collected at the airport and taken on 4 guided tours by Derek of Claymore Travel from nearby Stirling ([--]) and again he could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable if he tried. An excellent holiday and we will certainly be repeating the trip again soon.
Book and enjoy the marvellous Trossach hospitality!

We had the delightful experience of the Abbotsford Lodge while on vacation in Scotland. The friendliness and warmth of the owners and staff was outstanding. They really made you feel welcome and appreciated.
The lodge itself was a delightful escape from the same old, everyday hotel. The rooms were tastefully decorated and offered several amenities.
Outside the grounds were very well kept and the abundance and beauty of the plants and flowers was astonishing.
The service was very gracious and the breakfast was delicious and very enjoyable.
Thank you very much for adding to the wonderful experience we enjoyed in Scotland.

We made a one night stay at the Abbotsford Lodge; we booked a superior room at a rate of £110 per night.
We were greeted by the lady owner (Isobel, I think) who was very welcoming and friendly. She showed us to our room and told us how the shower and the TV etc worked and then left us in peace, but if we had needed anything there was a call bell in the hall.
The room in this B&B was of a higher standard that many of the 4 or 5 star hotels we've visited! I know some reviewers have commented that not all of the rooms have been refurbished, but this one was excellent. The bed was huge and very comfortable; the only problem was getting out of it the next morning! The bathroom was also brand new with a fantastic power shower.
The public areas; lounge, conservatory and dining area have been beautifully decorated.
We didn’t eat in there, although they will do an evening meal if you ask in advance, but there are loads of restaurants in Callander and it’s only a short walk / drive into the town, we can recommend the Chinese restaurant at the far end of town!
The next morning; even though my husband and I were the only guests staying, the breakfast area was set up with enough food to feed a houseful! We'd been asked to complete a selection form for breakfast when we checked in; everything was supplied the next morning exactly as requested.
We would most definitely stay there again!

Overall we really had no complaints about our stay here. It really is a charming building and the rooms as well as the dining area and lounges are well decorated. Overall the place has a great style to it and is not decorated like some B and B's that make you feel like you are staying at Grandmas house. The bed was comfy and the breakfast in the morning was tasty. One recommendation would be to have a hair dryer in the room. We would easily stay here again.
