We stayed for two nights in Poppies in early November 2007 having read reviews on Tripadvisor. We cancelled another hotel in the region to do so and we were not disappointed.

The hotel room was immaculate and of a good size. There was a nice bar and an excellent restaurant. The proprietors and staff were very friendly and helpful. Callander is a good base for touring the Trossachs and is within easy reach of both Ballachulish and Pitlochry. I can recommend the hotel without hesitation.

We have just returned from an overnight stay and can truely say we can recomend this small hotel. The room was of an average size with the usual facilities, clean and warm (essential in November). We had dinner and breakfast, with both meals being well presented, cooked superbly and the service was second to none. We were made to feel very welcome with nothing being too much trouble. Booked an overnight stay at Poppies on the way up to Inverness. Had a lovely room. Comfy bed. Good sized bathroom. Had a superb evening meal in the restaurant. The owners and staff were very friendly and pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Wished we had booked a longer stay and will definitely go back. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Poppies to anyone looking to stay in this area.

Stayed here for two nights while touring the Highlands. Callander is a good base for touring, and this hotel was fantastic. Room was large, beautifully decorated, and bathroom was large and clean with recently updated fixtures. Plenty of parking available. The restaurant is top notch - fresh ingredients, prepared well. The early bird three course menu is a great value.
