“Great Family Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Popped in for lunch mid-week while visiting the area and were given a warm greeting by the staff. As the restaurant was quiet and we had young kids they seated us downstairs in the area next to the garden and promptly brought a big box of toys. With the kids happy we had a lovely lunch of Haggis / Fish accompanied by a pint or two of their own Real Ale.

Hope to head back again before we leave Scotland.

“Lovely Scottish Inn With Good Pub Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

We called her twice during a weekend in the Trossachs. First time was for a couple of drinks in the little beer garden and then we returned the next day for Sunday lunch.

The food was very good with hearty portions. Whilst we both had starters and main courses, we noticed a couple of their "lighter lunch" options going past i.e. sandwiches and baked potatoes and these looked very good and great value for money.

Service was pleasant, if rather slow ( we were amongst the first to arrive but waited nearly 45 minutes for our starters , one of which was just a prawn cocktail )

By the way, the Inn has a little shop selling a huge array of ales which would be great if you're into that sort of thing or looking for a gift for someone who is.

The Inn seemed very clean although I hated the hand towel in the toilet ( I didn't think there was anywhere left that still puts out one hand towel out for dozens of guests to use). Paper towels are a must, especially in an establishment that serves food.

Other than that, I really liked this place and imagine it would be an enjoyable evening venue as they have live music at weekends.

Thank you very much for your recent review of The Lade Inn. I am really sorry to hear that the service was slow when you came in and I am sure if you had spoken to a member of staff they would have checked to see what the hold up was, however all we can do is apologise and hope that it doesn't put you off coming back again in the future.
Regarding the hand towels in the ladies and disabled toilets we do this as we are part of the Green Tourism business scheme and are Silver award winners for aiding towards being environmentally friendly. It is better for the environment to have hand towels which are changed throughout the day during busy periods rather than paper towels. We have notices stating this in our toilets and we also provide hand dryers for those who prefer them.
We look forward to welcoming you at The Lade Inn again in future and thank you for your comments.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

We were staying in the Trossacks with friends who had eaten in this inn before, and just love the food. It was the first time at The Lade for husband and I.
After long day out and about it was a good place stop for a good hearty meal. The food was great, it was a small menu but all on the menu was good.We tried haggis. neaps and tatties for the first time and enjoyed very much I woud advise anybody to at least try it once. I also had the steak pie which was very good as well.
The chichen stuffed with haggis lovely.
The service was excellent and you did not have to wait long for the food.
For beer lovers they also have their own mico brewery

Hello and thank you very much for your recent review of The Lade Inn on Trip Advisor. I am happy to hear that you had a nice visit and enjoyed the food and service. The menu size is based on what we feel is appropriate for the amount of customers we serve. We currently have 5 Starters, 15 Main Courses and 5 Desserts as well as sides and lunch time options such as Baguettes. All our meals are cooked fresh to order so we like to keep the menu at a reasonable size with not too large a menu but still with plenty of choice. I am also happy to hear that you enjoyed our Lade Inn ales which I must add are brewed to our recipe however we do not have our own Micro Brewery.

Thank you very much for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again on your next visit.

“Charming Scottish Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We had a lovely lunch at The Lade Inn back on November 16, 2012. This was our 2nd day in Scotland, visiting with family in Brig O'Turk...The Lade is one of the area restaurants they frequent. The first impression of the menu....Gluten-Free items are noted with a "G" !! Could they make it any easier for us (for those who are Dairy Free, Wheat Free and/or vegetarian, those items are noted also). There were five of us, my two kids (11 & 15), our cousins (2 seniors in their late 80's) and myself. All agreed the food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was very friendly. It was very quiet during our visit, likely because we were early for lunch and the time of year...I can imagine things would be quite different when the tourist season is in full gear. We were fortunate to be able to tuck in to a corner table beside the wood stove....very cozy and private. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
