Stayed here for 2 nights in June, as I was doing a cycling event starting from the racecourse.
Very easy to get to, turn opposite Tesco as if you're going to the racecourse.
Reception staff are very polite and friendly. Rooms are the standard Premier Inn layout - and were perfectly clean. Not sure how old this hotel is, but the decoration looks fresh.
Only niggle is they only supply two teabags / coffees - they could be a bit more generous here! But you've got a huge 24-hour Tesco opposite.
Watch out for the air-conditioning. The windows don't open, the aircon provides fresh air all the time - but whether it's on "heat" or "cool" is centrally controlled. The previous week the weather had been warm. Sunday it was very cold - but was unable to get any heat out. A quick chat with reception explained what was happening, and it was sorted immediately. They explained that they try to keep track of the weather and set the aircon.
I didn't use the restaurant for dinner, but did have the "Premier breakfast" on Monday morning (unfortunately, at the weekend the restaurant only opens at 7am, which was after my cycling event started).
Breakfast was an extra £8, and I think was worth every penny. The staff were really friendly, explained everything, took my order for a cooked breakfast as soon as I was settled, and this was freshly-cooked promptly. I'm surprised at what the previous reviewer said - I thought the service and food were excellent.
Will certainly stay here again next year.
