“Typical Premier inn in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We stayed here on a short break to explore the area around Bournemouth. Having stayed at a lot of Premier Inns already we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. However, I did think the cost of the stay was a bit expensive for what is, after all, supposed to be a budget hotel chain. .

The room was the usual standard and the staff were cheerful. The adjoining pub served a reasonable selection of meals and seemed to be popular with locals.

An added bonus was the hotel's close proximity to a large Sainsburys which was useful for petrol, asks etc.

Good location and some quiet rooms. Staff very good. The restaurant needs attention as it looks tired and un inspiring. Apart from that it's in a good location and as with all Premier inns the rooms are acceptable.

Thanks for your feedback.

We are very pleased that our team at the hotel ensured that you were well looked after.
Our pricing policy works in the same way as many airlines where prices are driven by market conditions at the time.

Although prices may increase at times of demand, they may also reduce on nights which are less busy. We do have a Team who closely monitor all hotels to ensure they are competitively priced as we always try and give you the best value for money.

Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel.

Had a family room, reasonably priced, we booked about a month in advance for about £60/night including breakfast (I have never yet been able to secure a room for £29 like they say in their ads! - but hey, this price per person isn't bad). Quite a big inn, so it can be a bit of a walk to your room. Nice room though, well maintained, clean, good TV (kids happy), tea and coffee-making facilities in room (wife and me both happy), Part of a Beefeater,so you don't need to go out to eat and about a mile or so from the centre of Christchurch which is a great place to visit. Close to a large Sainsburys and Stewarts garden centre and it's then straight up the A35 for 10 minutes by car to get into the New Forest.
So why not 5 stars? Well, the staff at breakfast were (IMO) slower and less willing to help than the reception people or the evening bar staff. For example: the fried eggs were looking pretty tired one morning, so I asked for 2 poached eggs instead (it said on the menu they had them). Once I'd found someone to ask, the young lady rather grudgingly asked the newspaper-reading cook to do them. He finished reading the article he was into and then got on with the job. If anyone from Premier Inn is reading - yes, these things do make a difference - I can get a fresh-cooked breakfast down the road in Christchurch for similar money no problem...!
Overall though, if you want a good value night's kip in the area, you'd struggle to do much better.

stayed on a Friday when going to a friends party. Arived late, receptionist was very helpful and booked a taxi for us while we put our bags in the room, and it was there by the time we got back to reception. Usual high standards of cleanliness, and room decor looks smart. Appreciate the focus on quite rooms, not being disturbed by other guests and resonably soundproofed rooms. For a budget chain, they are much better value than travel lodges.
Easy access into Christchurch, good parking with the pub attached, although only eat there for breakfast.

Stayed for two nights after taking a chance by booking in advance from the other side of the world. Pleasantly surprised by the value for money compared to similar hotels in other countries. It had everything we needed and was very conveniently situated for our visit. It was also very convenient for the rest of our holiday as it is part of a very large chain with other hotels easy to locate in each of other the places we visited. I will recommend it to anyone else looking for a budget hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room not too far from reception.
