“Great way to finish a day...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

Went to the kings last night after an busy and emotional day and had a great time. Started with a nice cocktail in the bar. Wasabi spicy nuts, bacon popcorns, crudites and crispy sour dough were served with it. I started my meal with Alex's cheese souffle, rich and flavoursome starter. My main course was a Ribeye steak grilled on a jasper Oven... beautifuly cooked steak served with fat chips, grilled tomato and mushroom. finished my meal with a iced white chocolate and banana parfait... Very nice and creamy... warm welcome, good and friendly service from start to finish. Thanks to jainyfer ;-) and her team for looking after us well. Well done. Will return soon...

“Birthday Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We went to The Kings Hotel in Christchurch for my husbands celebration birthday meal. We were straight away welcomed warmly and offered pre drinks at the bar. The service was friendly and efficient. We were given menus to browse, which was helpful. When we went through for dinner, our waiter remembered who's glass was whose and carried them through for us. The service in the restaurant was very good. All the food ordered was perfectly cooked and of a good sized portion. The lighting in the restaurant was quite dim, mainly lit by candles but had a very good atmosphere. Although quite expensive, all in all the evening was very enjoyable.

“Friday night Fizz and Chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

My husband i were staying in Christchurch @ a b&b for the weekend and decided to eat in the Kings. We were 'found' a table at short notice and the whole evening went very well from that time on. The staff were ALL really friendly the menu offered the Friday special of Fizz and Chips where you get a glass of Prosecco with your choice of main course at a very reasonable price we chose this menu and by the time we had had more drinks and 3 courses the whole bill came to £80 which combined with the quality of food and staff and the fact i had more Prosecco we thought was justified.

“A lovely lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

We stumbled across the hotel by accident when we were in Christchurch and were looking for somewhere for lunch. We were delighted with our find. We went for the set lunch menu which was excellent value. The food was delicious and the puddings were outstanding. The Sunday roast was delicious. My sister had fish which looked really good and she really enjoyed it. She was even brought a side bowl to discard the bones which was a really nice touch. The restaurant is modern and airy, and even though it was very busy it was not noisy or uncomfortable as some open plan restaurants can be. The staff were very friendly and informative and we had a great time. We are looking forward to going back again!
