“abolutly fantastic even with a 3month old baby!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Me and my partner (20 and 24) stopped here with family a few months ago and we had a fantastic time, It felt like we was stopping with family rather than in a bed and breakfast! we had a beautifully clean room and a beautiful bathroom to our selves that had a shower and a bath too! Me and my partner had our 3 month old daughter with us and it was no trouble at all, everything we could have wanted was done and prepared for us and nothing was to much for the owners, Cristine and Pete. They ensured my critically ill Granddad enjoyed himself and even went into town to get a heated blanket for him as he was a bit under the weather, might I add the house was not cold at all it was just my Granddads condition that caused him to be cold. I would highly recommend the tan house farm to any one, with or without children!
Thank you very much for your fantastic hospitality and within time I am sure we will see you again!

Room Tip: all of the 3 room that myself and the family stopped in where fantastic, spacious, clean and cosy!

I think we can echo everything else written about this bed and breakfast - amazing welcome, great for our dog, really friendly and interesting hosts, beautiful rooms, an incredible house and garden full of art and amazing furniture built by Peter himself and unbelievable value. Go there... this weekend.

Some things should never change and the hospitality of this wonderful relaxing place made two nights feel like a week, a comfy room and fabulous breakfast. Surrounded by great scenery, lovely walks, great pubs, and places to eat, with the friendliest people on the planet. If we had the money we would buy it too and not change a thing even the hosts Peter and Christie would have to stay, along with the dogs and cat of course. We promise not to leave it so long before our next visit. If you like to chill and chat in an amazing house this is the place for you.

Room Tip: The one with the separate bath and toilet is double aspect views over the lovely gardens.

First and foremost, Tan House is a large and beautiful Gloucestershire country house (amazingly for sale - and if I had the money I would buy it!) Pete & Chris are lovely artistic hosts who have restored this fabulous 350 odd year old house with amazing art and handbuilt furniture throughout. Its such a relaxing and restfull place - with huge gardens to wander in. Amazingly it is also a great bed & breakfast which I recommend wholeheartedly!

Stayed at this lovely B & B for one night last week. Peter and Christine our hosts were absolutely fabulous. We had a choice of rooms and plumped for the White Room, best nights sleep ive had in ages. Very peaceful with beautiful surrounding gardens. Breakfast was lovely, full English and choice of cereals, also homemade jams, yum! We had gone to wedding the night before and drove there from Tan House, we left our car there and Peter even took us into town to pick the car up the following day. This is a really tip top place, dog friendly (not that we took a dog but you can if you like) and has the bonus of not smelling doggie at all. Gay friendly, straight friendly all friendly, they really do cater for everyone.
Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Room Tip: White Room was our favourite - double room

If you are on vacation or visiting the Gloucestershire area,...., you will have to stay at the Tan House. This wonderful old farmhouse / B&B , is set in a huge area dedicated to gardens and meadows, and is the ideal retreat. Peter and Christine are the most friendly, helpful, hosts you ever want to meet....and were very accommodating to all our needs.. We were greeted with enthusiasm, and made to feel at home immediately. The rooms we stayed in was tastefully furnished and very comfortable! The whole house is very impressive, and allows one to rest their weary bones. The breakfasts were superb and Christine and Peter made us feel like we were all that mattered, catering to our every need or want. The nearby village has a local pub that has great food and drink, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area...What more could you want? This area is so beautiful and peaceful.
The Tan House will always be our first choice when ever we return to this area. You haven't relaxed until you have had the great opportunity to stay at the Tan House...
I travel frequently, and this was truly the very best experience I have ever had at a B&B to relax and unwind.... Thank you so much Peter and Christine for making my vacation so memorable....
Stayed May 2013, traveled with family and really had the best time ever.....

Room Tip: Really????....... Stay in any of the rooms, as they all have their own charm... There is no such th...

If you are visiting The Forest Of Dean, The Wye Valley or Gloucestershire, you would be wise to make this your first, last and always choice for accomodation. Tan House itself is a stunning old farmhouse with huge gardens and meadows, set in a lovely village in a quiet part of the Wye Valley. Peter and Christine are the ideal hosts: friendly, approachable and helpful. We took two lively Miniature Schnauzers with us, who were also greeted with enthusiasm. The room we stayed in was tastefully furnished and was rather large! The whole house is very impressive-looking. The breakfast was superb and Christine and Peter made us feel even more relaxed by eating with us. The village pub is a pleasant walk away and serves lovely food. What more could want for a short stay??
This will be our automatic choice when we are down this way. Make it yours.
