“Fantastic day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We went here on a wet cold day, but there was so much to do we soon forgot the weather, perfect day out for my children aged 3 & 5 years. Trains are great, tree house adventure fantastic, cafe good value and has toys for the children so you have time for an extra coffee.

“Great way to spend an afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

We visited on a cold day with our 3 year old. Really enjoyable steam train ride. Its great to just get on and off at all the small stations. The train ride is a good length but the stations are really close together by foot so if you can easily walk back to the cafe or treehouse in a few minutes if you need anything. Theres a small cafe with a lovely fire and a friendly cat!

I am really pleased you appreciate the reason why the end of the railway is quite near the start! The station cat was probably Sausage or it might have been Daisy, they are both very good at their job.

“Unpretentious and enjoyable attraction.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

An unpolished attraction, but with some well thought out aspects and at a very reasonable cost. Our children had been once before and were enthusiastic about going back. The highlight is the steam railway which runs through the woods with quite an ingenious integrated treasure hunt. The questions lead to a locked treat locker within the indoor play area. The steam train is very good, as is the sturdy and extensive tree house. Inside is a little rough and ready but has the interestingly designed play area. The catering is unprentious and it is very nice not to be charged extortionate prices for drinks and sandwiches. The preparation facilities and catering workwear is amateur, a little bit of work on this could give a much better impression. But overall a great value day out and our kids loved it.

I'm glad you think the pricing was reasonable - it's so difficult to decide how much to charge. But the best thing is that the children wanted to come back. That's what really matters to us!

“2 year old grandson cried as didn't want to leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

This is a wonderful place to bring small children especially those who love trains. There is plenty to do for a few hours. The cafe is lovely, great home made cakes. We managed to spend a great afternoon on a cold day with 3 grandchildren, 9, 2and 5 months.
We've been before and it's great, adventure playground and inside activity too - good old fashioned entertainment which kid love
