“Central and Immaculate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

stayed at this hotel for two nights, a decent sized room with contemporary furnishings. Immaculate white bedding, and the beds were very comfortable. Ample hanging space etc. but my only very tiny gripe is no drawer for my unmentionables, had to keep all my undies in my luggage, as i dont really want them on display. The bathroom was large, very modern and also immaculate, could have done with an extractor. two people getting showered in quick succession really steams up a bathroom. Staff also very pleasant and helpful, even offering to assist with our bags ! which I was very surprised at. As this is also a wetherspoons pub, there is no rush to get up for breakfast as they are served until 12 noon. I never thought i would complain about a wetherspoons breakfast as they are generally consistent, wherever you go, but the breakfast on Sat. am was dire, perhaps due to the volume of customers. I returned it and it was replaced without question, the second one was of the usual standard. There are only 4 parking spaces, we were lucky enough to get one, and didn't need to move our car for the weekend, but there is a car park about a 100yards away, and the parking restrictions on the road outside the hotel are not in force overnight, so you could park there if required. would definately stay there again if in Dearham.

This our second visit to this hotel and have found the room to be very good and competitively priced as you would expect from a Whetherspoons product.
The hotel is very well located being central to Dereham if there is one small concern it would revolve around the amount of available car parking space this did not impact on us as the hotel was not busy but if it were this may well be an issue other than that we found our stay pleasant and would definitely rebook if ever we were to return to Dereham.

A very clean and pleasant hotel, polite and helpful staff and of course the Wetherspoon pub below. Close to the high street and a convenient place to stay for the Thursford Christmas .experience. Only negative point is the emergency light in the bedroom; there is a pilot light which is far too bright and illuminates the bedroom, worse than a "child light".

Room Tip: Rear rooms were nice and quiet.

Stayed August Bank Holiday weekend for one night, rooms very comfortable and clean, could not fault it. Also ate in the bar and this was also very good, typical Weatherspoons great value as usual. if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of Dereham then this is the place to go.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

Chose this hotel for good locality to meeting the following day, hotel was easy to find but parking was an issue as there is a limited number of spaces actually outside the hotel and their car park is actually further down the road, again limited spaces. I managed to get a spot when I first arrived but having to go out later than evening I returned to find no spaces, having to drive round and round in unfamiliar territory to park my car.

My room was on the 1st floor but unfortunately faced the main street directly above the entrance and very noisy from people and cars going up and down the street and from smokers congregating outside the attached Wetherspoons pub with a very picturesque view of a building site. The noise from what seemed like the hand-dryer in the toilets was a particular favourite.

The other issue was the lack of Wi-Fi, although advertised "free Wi-Fi", there must have been some issue as I could not connect though my laptop, mobile or ipad. Phone signal is very patchy in the hotel too. Not great for business users like myself.

I did not eat here so cannot comment on the food, I am not a fan of pub food so quite often avoid all together but prices looked reasonable from the menu if you like that sort of thing.

Probably would choose not to stay here again due to the limited parking, lack of Wi-Fi and noisy street, at less than £50 per night it is probably more suited to the white-van-man contractors (who seem to park fine!).
