“Comfortable, quiet and relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2014

Needing somewhere to stay near Dereham I took a chance on this and glad I did so. The Mill was easy to find and has plenty of parking. Check in is via a note on the door telling you where your room is(the key is in the door). This was no problem. Easy to get straight to the room without any hanging around reception. Room 8. The room was of a good size, with a sofa an chairs and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but everything was clean. The room was to a high standard of decoration with some nice touches. A decent place to stay, quiet, comfortable. Next door (but I believe not connected) is a very nice and reasonably priced Mill Cafe Bar. Choice of real ales and a good menu. Not open in the evenings every day though. There are other food options within a couple of miles. Breakfast in the Mill tower was wonderful. The young lady serving was very friendly and efficient. I was very pleased with my choice and will go back again. Price was reasonable for what you get. I have paid a lot more at hotels for a lot less.

Stayed here for one night after a birthday party in the next-door pub/restaurant. There was a note on the door to say which room we were in and the room key was left in the door for us. The room itself was very clean and comfortably furnished. There were tea making facilities and a TV but no hairdryer, which was slightly disappointing. Slept very well but there was absolutely no hot water for showers in the morning. Breakfast was served in a "small but perfectly formed" cafe in the windmill itself. It was freshly cooked to order and there were unlimited top-ups of coffee. I had a full English breakfast, which was lovely. All in all, good value at £60 for the room, including breakfast.

Room Tip: Bring your own hairdryer!

Last minute I needed to visit very close by, so on searching the internet came across this place it ticked almost all the boxes could I Complain definitely not the reason it ticked "most of the boxes" is because I do like luxury and although this is in no way luxurious it's very clean and I would say comfortable it offered more than basic and it's definitely cheap I haven't had breakfast yet but yes it is included in the price

Would I stay again at this price yes yes yes

We visit this area twice a month and are so delighted that we've just discovered this wonderful b&b.

If the owner is unavailabe they do leave details / a note on the door giving the guests name and room number. The door key will be left for you to enter your room. (very trusting in this day and age :) ) A telephone number is also included should you need to speak to anyone. It's so easy... you can access your room with the minimum of fuss!

The b&b is easy to find and there's loads of free parking. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean, cosy, homely and comfortable. Free wi-fi,TV, coffee/tea tray, hairdryer, ensuite bathroom with shower gel/shampoo included - everything you need for an overnight stay. If I were a lone traveller I'd feel happy and safe to stay here on my own.

A full english breakfast (served up to 9am) was included and cooked by Mary.... a lovely friendly lady and wonderful cook too! (if you are veggie or have special dietary requirements mention it in the "special requests" at the time of booking so they have time can accomodate this).

The mill, cafe bar and restuarant next door is seperate to the b&b and are only open in the evenings on Thur/Frid/Sat until 11pm (lovely place and fab food)....... don't leave a negative review for this if you can't get an evening meal when it's closed as it's owned independently!

Tesco/Lidl are a 5 minute drive away... as is Derehem for restaurants/pubs etc.

This will be my 1st choice for our overnight stays in future. Thank you - we really did enjoy staying with you and appreciate you hard work and attention to detail.

See you very soon.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor (room 10) - it was lovely.

Travelled down from Glasgow for a family funeral. The Mill was very clean, quiet and comfortable. In the morning we had a lovely full English breakfast. Price very good and staff friendly, would recommend it for a quiet stay.

Stayed here as we were meeting friends for dinner at the pub restaurant next door, which shares the same name but is run by different people. The accommodation was fine for the price, clean and comfortable, with a good breakfast included. Like a previous reviewer, we saw no staff until breakfast. Great for one night, but not sure I would want to stay any longer than that.

Ok, no one there to welcome us, keys in bedroom door, never saw any staff until breakfast, when we saw a cook. Slightly disappointing, as we needed some advice about local shops and local restaurants, but room OK and breakfast good. Fine for overnight stay.
