“What a fantastic Location and Perfect Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2012

We stayed at Knockninny on the Eastar Break. The hotel is full of charm with a rustic balance throughout. The rooms are all individualised and certainly value for money. Waking up to a view over the loch is a pleasure followed by a superb Irish breakfast.
We found the food to be of a very high standard and as good as any fine dining we have had in island on this visit or in the past
There is a homely feel to the hotel and this is provided by the friendliness of the staff and your hosts, Gail and Marshall, who go out of their way to help and advise on the local area and things to do.
Why not hire a boat and trip around the Loch. We will return later this year and really look forward to the visit.

Room Tip: All rooms are a good quality, but try to overlook the Loch, if possible

We have been to Knockninny several times , mostly by boat.. It is a beautiful place and has a lovely bar and restaurant.. Even when the restaurant wasn't open Gail went into the kitchen to cook up some food for us.... It is a very homely and welcoming place and I would not hesitate to recommend it ...

Stayed here in September 2009 for a couple of nights after getting married. Was such a lovely place. Gayle looked after us so well and gave us a great welcome. The place is amazing. I remember it being all run down but well done for all the wor. Incidentally I proposed on Knockninny Quay 14 Feb 2009. Just love this place. So calm. Food was great lovely and relaxed. Thanks again and hope to come back.

Ian and I went to Knockninny Marina for an overnight stay Saturday 4th April to attend a birthday party. I have to say the my first impression was wow! We were greeted by Gail, the owner, and she was very professional. We checked into our room which was clean, warm and of an exceptional high standard. The party was for approximately 20 people, the menu suited everyone in the party. There was a meat dish, a fish dish and a chicken dish to choose from. The service and presentation was excellent. The staff were more than able to cater for the private party and other guests at the same time and no one was treated any different. The fire in the bar was lit and as the night wore on everyone seemed to gather round it and mix together. We have a wonderful night and would have loved to stay longer. We will be returned very soon and are planning to take friends from Jersey to stay in Knockninny when they visit us in August. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Stayed here for one night with my elderly mother and young son and had a great time.
We had the family room which had two lovely double beds, a TV and a huge, well equipped en-suite bathroom. We arrived after a long day's driving and shopping and were greeted by the very courteous and friendly owner and we were able to book a table at the restaurant for that evening. Before dinner we took a short walk around the marina and took in the "wishing well"! The views are superb and the area is really picturesque. Dinner was a real treat - the food was lovely and the chef made our little one some 'off the menu' sausages and chips!
We had a great night's sleep and a wonderful cooked breakfast the next day.
Our only (small) complaint would be that the lift wasn't working and we were on the second floor. It didn't bother us much but may be difficult for some one with mobility problems. This is only a minor point - it's a great place and the welcome is fantastic!

I would highly recommend Knockninny for a trip! On arrival myself and my boyfriend were greeted by Gail (one of the owners), who we found to be really friendly, helpful and we immediately felt at home. The building itself is quaint, very clean and full of character. All the staff went out of their way to help and put us at ease. The bedroom we had was lake-view and finished to a high standard, full of little individual personal touches.....and the bathroom..!!!.....spotless and luxurious! Later in out stay we met Marshall who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. All in all a wonderful place to stay for a romantic break/relaxing time away and we will be back!
