“Great walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

This is a nice reasonable length walk that can be approached in either direction as there is a pub at each end! Distance is about 3 miles and it takes about 2 hours at a gentle pace. It is excellently signposted and not too crowded
I is like most Cornwall walks quite up and down so be prepared for some steep slopes. The views are stunning on a sunny day however. We started at Poluruan have taken the ferry across from Fowey we ended at The Ferry Inn in Bodinnick and then after crab sandwiches and cider it was the car ferry back to Fowey. A most enjoyable morning was had.

“Pubs at both ends”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

If you travel from the Caffa Mill end of Fowey, where there is no pub, you go over on the Ferry to drink /eat at the Old Ferry Inn , stagger up the hill to start the walk and try to avoid people taking pot-shots at you from over the river (as happened to Charles 1 - or so the sign says) You then have a pleasant stroll along to the Q memorial , and then the walk gets more adventurous as you go up Pont Pill (can be a bit darker and damper) . Then you head for Polruan where you have the choice of two pubs - the Lugger or the Russell,(for the notable Polruan Pub Crawl) before the Ferry back to central Fowey - where you can carry on drinking at the Red Herring /Ship/Galleon / Lugger/ Safe Harbour/ King of Prussia

“Great walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

Started the walk at Polruan. Well sign posted at time of walk diversion in place at start. Some great views over the estuary and well worth the effort. Finished off with some lunch at the ferry inn near the car ferry and a well earned pint. Great circular walk.

“Exceptionally lovely walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

You can choose to start this walk from sleepy Polruan or bustling Fowey as it is circular. Either way you are rewarded by beautiful views in every direction. It is quite challenging, especially when the weather has been wet for a while, as the paths can get slippery with mud. Some areas are also very steep, but well worth it. Pont, at the end of Pont Pill creek, is magical. Take money for the ferries and a pasty and pint either at Bodinnick or Polruan.

“A very good walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

If in the area you must get to do the Hall Walk; it is a reasonably strenuous 3 mile walk between Bodinnick and Portruan with excellent views of the Fowey estuary, and the added advantage of decent pubs in either Bodinnick or Portruan at either end of the walk. Portruan is also an interesting place to explore in its own right.

The walk is made into a circular by catching the ferry between Fowey and Bodinnick and between then between Portruan and Fowey and walking between the two ferries in Fowey (whilst eating an ice cream).
