“The most beautiful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2011

This is possibly the most beautiful home we have ever been in, so what a wonderful start to our week in Cornwall. The furniture, furnishings & fittings were elegant & tasteful. The setting delightful. (I thing that the internet photos do not do it justice.)
Best described as a Luxury boutique B&B. Very central location & a good base for touring. The parking cost is included & is nearby ( thought a bit of a climb up-hill to get to the car park).
Elizabeth & Nigel were the most charming & welcoming hosts offering the very best B&B experience one could wish for........a 5 star hotel would not have attended to such detail & service. We had a beautiful room with a superb spacious bathroom & roll top bath. The bed, bedding & linen were top quality & sooo comfortable, which aided a good nights sleep.
Afternoon Cornish cream tea in the Drawing room was an unexpected treat. The breakfast was top class, served in the delightful Orangerie overlooking the estuary. Even the china & silverware was beautiful. A great selection on offer, I especially loved the fresh fruit including baked nectarines. The best produce was obviously sourced for the traditional cooked breakfast & the coffee was great - we could not fault it, worth every penny- Classy 10/10!

We stayed in the Bishops Residence for 3 nights during August. The location was ideal, overlooking the estuary and just a couple of minutes walk to the main street where there was a great choice of places to eat and drink. The house was absolutely beautiful throughout. Our room (the green room on the top floor) was fantastic, comfortable with gorgeous furnishings, lovely bathroom and fabulous views. Every detail was thought of and provided to ensure our comfort and enjoyment.

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and Elizbeth and Nigel were ideal hosts.

Absolutely faultless and we wouldnt hesitate in recommending to anyone

We wanted to go away with family for a birthday weekend. We arrived at the Bishops House boutique guest house and it didn't disappoint. Finished to the highest standards and amazing views of Fowey. Elizabeth the owner welcomed us with an afternoon tea on the veranda, which was a lovely touch and the view across the estuary was beautiful, it also helped that it was a sunny weekend.
The rooms were lovely and large and our room had an amazing roll top bath which was situated so you could bathe and look out of the window. The little touches of baked cakes and tea in the room were lovely.
Free Wi fi available which is so important. No decent mobile phone reception in Fowey unless you walk up the hill. Drop your bags off before parking your car and get someone else to pick up the car when leaving. Very steep hill. Seagulls can be a bit noisy but your by the coast. Sams bar great place to eat, The Ship and King of Prussia good pubs.
Breakfast was lovely we only wish there were newspapers provided especially for the cost of the accommodation but this is only a small quibble and there's a newsagent across the way. We would highly recommend. Thanks

Room Tip: Top floor roll top plum bath. Excellent views

Thank you for your kind review and useful advice. All guests are now asked what their newspaper of choice is and it is provided at the breakfast table. Elizabeth
