“Good place and location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Stayed here after staying at the Premier Inn central for two nights and not really sleeping for the two nights because of noise. Even though there where groups out for the weekend we still got a good nights sleep at the Jurys inn.
Very welcoming staff at reception and restaurant.
Ate in the onsite restaurant and got good value with 50% off with our Taste card.
Very clean hotel. Only problem is the parking.
Breakfast was really good with a good choice and good quality.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review.

At the hotel we appreciate the importance of our guests getting a good nights sleep, I was happy to hear this was the case for you during your stay.

I do appreciate car parking can be a challenge at times and we are looking at ways in which we can improve this.

I hope to see you back at the hotel at some point in the future. Our restaurant overlooks the Quayside and as spring & summer arrives we will have a seated area outside for guests to enjoy food & drink.

I will pass your comments onto the rest of the team who will delighted to see such positive feedback.

Kind Regards

The hotel has some of the best views in NewcastleGateshead. The rooms are basic but very clean and offer everything a business or leisure traveller needs. Breakfast wasn't great but we did go late in the morning. The hotel offers very good value for money. If you are taking a car make sure that you park in the hotel car park rather than the Public car park opposite. The public car park is very expensive.

It is a very good job that this hotel is actually nice, great beds and clean rooms, but seriously lacks in customer service.

check in was a total disaster. I had booked 2 rooms and my brother had booked one room as well. How the hotel managed to mess this up so much is totally beyond me. I managed to get my two rooms sorted and given the keys. My brothers room was next to mines, well so we thought. They gave us the room keys and off we went. Once he tried to open the door and got in there were already people in the room. Not a clue how this was messed up so much but as you can imagine the guys were not best pleased at reception for double booking a room and also giving keys out. Can you imagine if they were not in the room and something had went missing?

Also when you check in the hotel ask that you write down everyone's name as there are security on the door at night which seems like a great idea. Only if the hotel reception had actually passed on the details on the names of the guests onto the security as two rooms were under my name and the other girls in the room were refused entry into the hotel after paying £90 pp per night you would think the simplest of tasks would have been carried out.

After much debate with the security and the hotel receptionist who's attitude was terrible. And i don't appreciate as a guest to be swore at by the hotel receptionist so say [--] to me. For a hotel that is meant to be what a 4*? You might want to gather some of your staff together and give them a training session on how to treat guests and that [--] is in my eyes not acceptable on any levels

Arrived mid February (freezing temperatures) to find no heating or hot water in the room. Staff were quick to solve the hot water problem but the heating was not solved until three days into our stay. Showering in the morning was not possible, neither was shaving, there were no shaving points anywhere in the room.

As a coffee freak I expected a Costa Coffee shop as advertised but only found a machine behind the bar. Staff were excellent but I would think twice about booking here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Tyne,

Beautifully situated , and 5 mins pleasant walk to the Sage theatre and bridge across the river.
Extremely friendly hotel, excellent front desk staff, nothing too much trouble and they smile!! Comfortable and warm, breakfast good and room, beds, bathroom all spot on, view wasn't the greatest but there again I didn't pay the earth! Would recommend this hotel as its like the city of Newcastle .. warm, friendly and great!

Arrived with 4pm, could not have checked in until 3pm, to find no parking available in the woefully small car park of hotel. Friends arrived at 5 to find same problem. Parked in adjacent Baltic car park. When asked at reception about where to park we were told to wait until 6pm then park on single yellow lines outside hotel!! This was not possible as we had to go for food before going to a concert at the Sage which started at 7.30pm.Husband and friend drove around looking for car parking place. Luckily was advised by local special constables not to park in either of two places he had in mind, one he would have been clamped in, even though no signs advising of this, and the other had a car vandalised there recently. Ended up parking overnight in the Baltic which cost the outrageous sum of £1 per hour.(£17 in total). What should have been a relaxing break became a hassle, all over the parking situation.
Check - in service very poor. Handed key cards and not told room number or given any information about breakfast, room or services etc. Had to look on receipt to see which room we had been allocated. Room clean and had everything we required.Luckily enquired at reception later in the evening about breakfast and ordered and paid then at £8.50 each or else would have been £10 if done in the morning.
Rooms spotless and everything you need. Beds very comfortable and hotel idealy situated with lovely views and easy walking over the blinking eye bridge to newcastle, and sage etc.

Room Tip: Make alternative parking arrangements before arrival.

We stayed here for a one night break as we were seeing a show at the theatre. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient - gave is lots of info about how to get to our restaurant and the theatre, advise about walking times and taxis etc. The hotel is in a fab location on the Quayside right next to the Baltic, the Sage and the Millennium Bridge. Amazing views down river especially at night when everywhere is lit up.

Only criticism I could make was the parking cost was advertised a £5 for 24-hours when I ran to ask, and on the info in the rooms, when we checked in we were told £6 and when we checked out it was £6.50. However, it was a minor point and actually I didn't think £6.50 was a bad price for parking in the city centre location - have paid much more in Edinburgh or Leeds etc.

Highly recommend and would stay again with no hesitation.
