“Baltic Art Gallery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Well worth a visit even if you are not an art lover as such. The views of Newcastle from the outdoor viewing gallery are superb. From the quayside you walk over the amazing Millennium bridge to get to The Baltic, which is an old Flour Mill refurbished to hold "modern" art. Great views from the glass lift with a restaurant on floor 6, cafe on the ground level and gift shop.

If in Newcastle give it a try, if only for the spectacular views. And remember everyone sees art differently.

Loved my visit here, building is superb inside and out, lovely gift shop and cafe and I believe there is a restaurant there aswell! There is a really good gift shop within the Baltic centre and they do really good exhibitions aswell. Worth a look just for the building and views from inside even if your not an art lover! :)

“Interesting and unusual exhibitions.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

I have visited Baltic on several occasions and have always found the experience stimulating. The exhibitions can be unusual and thought provoking, as you would expect from modern artists, but rarely boring. The restaurant and shop are both good and the staff are well informed and very helpful.

“Visit for FREEEE..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

I love the fact that the Baltic Art Centre does not charge admission. It opens 7 days a week, car parking is easy, public transport connections are plentiful, and disabled services include not only pesonal guides, but also a very comprehensive collection of mobility comforts & facilities. The exhibitions and displays are spread over various galleries on five floors. Sometimes whacky, sometimes challenging, I always find a visit here stimulating, interesting, educational, and the building really lends itself to the purpose. If zany modern art is your thang, then head for the Baltic (in Gateshead). http://www.balticmill.com/whats-on
