What a great stay, spotless bedrooms, great service, this was our first stay at Netherwood, but definitely not our last, the staff were very attentive at all times and very friendly. Quality food with excellent presentation. Well done everyone. The views and gardens were wonderful.

23rd August 2013. Taking photographs for a Wedding Client. The Netherwood staff looked after us really well. My assistant had to leave early and they organised food and drink for her.

The Staff has the almost amazing attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble. If you are having a wedding and looking for a venue with an amazing setting, clean and first class service then you could not go wrong by using the Netherwood.

Just returned from our third visit what a wonderful relaxing place to stay in this unique stately home type accommodation with wonderful carved panelled rooms and a log fire in cooler summer evenings.
Welcoming staff immaculately clean and first class service.
The restaurant is first class and the breakfast is fantastic.
Sit in the elevated grounds and enjoy the panoramic views over Morecambe bay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front in the original part of the property,it is well worth paying the extra f...

This is a first class hotel and most certainly 5star. Staff, food, facilities are all excellent and the value for money is amazing. Wonderful setting and views and a fabulous experience. The area is great for traveling and sightseeing in Windermere.

Room Tip: Sea view but couldn't fault any room.

We have just attended our Sons wedding here at Netherwood Friday 16th August 2013. What can I say. Everything was amazing it was like a dream come true. The perfect venue for the perfect wedding. The setting is magnificent the day was glorious after all the horrendous weather the night before. It was all perfect right down to the setting up of the room to the lovely food and running of the wedding breakfast. I would like to thank Mike and his team for a fantastic day and just to say you all work really hard. This venue will be hard to beat. Looking forward to returning for a short break sometime in the future.

Room Tip: The bay views are stunning

We have just returned form a wedding here and I have to say what a stunning looking building and location. The wedding photos that were taken outside were just perfect and with the weather being fantastic and sunny it totally made the day.
The wedding breakfast was 1st class, all 3 courses.

I did find one of the staff a little curt, the older lady that served breakfast said it how it was. We were shown to a table for 2 but when she realised we were part of the wedding party she said we had to move, we said we didn't mind where we were sat but she said other guests would!! it wasn't so much as what she said but how she said it. Even when we ordered breakfast she was short with us, to be honest we were a little embarrassed.

THE BEDROOM... OMG I thought I had walked into my grandma's bedroom and the poor woman has been dead 23 years. It was the most dated room we have ever stayed in. Very clean but very dated. Saying that, the bedside cabinets were stained as was the carpet, it looked like bleach stains on the carpet.

The bathroom very small, the shower over the bath had a Mira shower so very slow and the folding half shower door didn't keep the water in, the floor was wet through. The bath side was chipped and double hook behind the bathroom door broken. 2 loo rolls would have been good as we ran out and had to use tissues.

When you are paying £120 per night it really should be better.

***The cleaning staff were wonderful and very friendly***

I just have to add that although the hotel allows dogs, one dog owner obviously didn't notice (or didn't care) the mess left by the dog on the lawn right next to the wonderful steps up to the main door. Not good for the wedding party, especially as this is where the best photos are taken!! just hope it was moved for the next wedding the day after.
