“Refreshed after week in Lodge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

2nd Year of Lodge.
Facilties really good and still in good condition.
I would recommend the Hot Stones massage at the Hotel Spa as was such a relaxing experience and didnt want it to end.
Lodge is fully equiped with all the items you would ever need.
Short walk over to Belton House which is worth a walk round. We went on the servants tour which was very interesting but jolly cold.
Frequented the local Stag pub at Barkston which does really good food at resonable prices and the staff and locals are so friendly. One of the guys offered to play golf with husband.
Belton Golf Course is not far away and is £15.00 a round, Belton De Vere is £25.00 per game and is a lodge owner small discount.

My wife and I stayed at Belton Woods Lodges and the hotel on the 16/17/18th March for a family celebration, We could not have picked a better place to stay.
The lodge was outstanding it was more than we expected with the Jacuzzi, sauna and the choice of bathrooms, everything was spotlessly clean.
It was as it was advertised and more, the kitchen, living room and patio/veranda area were huge.
Sky tv was included. On site facilities, golf, segways, shooting, archery and many more the tv was put on the back burner.
We enjoyed ourselves that much that we stayed an extra night in the hotel just to get a game of golf and have another go at the food.
we wanted to stay longer but work was calling.
We will definitely be re-booking

Room Tip: Rooms with the king size bed overlooking the golf course, the rooms are big with good facilities.

Great venue for a conference! Plenty of well appointed rooms which are very clean and comfortable. WiFi effective which really is an asset when on a business trip. Food good and plentiful. Breakfast could do to start at 6:30 rather than 7:00 for business travellers. All in all, a very comfortable stay. Only downside - restaurant times are not displayed in the room.

Stayed for a few days in January at De Vere Belton Woods luxury lodge with my family including my 1 year old granddaughter. The lodge exceeded my expectations being cosy and warm and well equipped. We had a relaxing break during a cold and snowy February. We used the lovely hotel swimming pool and ate in the bar area where the food was high quality and plentiful. This is our second visit and I would stay again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for her 18th Birthday in October. We had that much of a good time we have recommended it to so many people. The staff were friendly, the food was divine. We got a free upgrade for our room. They gave her a birthday card, a free bottle of wine and also chocolates. The room was just superbly comfortable and the views were just boasting with great scenery. this is a must go to hotel. It offers everything you need and the staff are just so helpful and friendly.

We stayed with some friends for two nights in one of the Luxury Lodges overlooking some magnificent scenery. The heavy January snow had just settled. We could have been in a log cabin in Switzerland. We enjoyed the feeling of being cut off from civilisation. The self catering facilities were excellent, and everything about the lodge was first class. I'd swap my house for one of these properties any day. Just a short walk from the main De Vere Hotel, but you would need a car to get to the local villages to stock up with supplies if necessary. Lovely nature walks, golf, mountain biking and other outdoor things to do when weather permits. Electricity is paid for over and above the main fee which seemed expensive for two nights stay. But it was -2 degrees outside, and we were all snug inside. So hey ho! Grantham just around the corner, and Belton House about a mile away. We'd certainly stay there again.

Dear TOONIST,

Thank you for your review.

It is great to hear that you found the lodges so welcoming and well-equipped. With regards to your electricity bill, the lodges are charged on a commercial tariff which is substantially more expensive than a domestic tariff but please be assured that we do not profit from this.

I sincerely hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon for some pampering of your own.

We have 2 weeks every year at one of the Devere resorts. Had a 3 night break just to relax and unwind. It's bliss looking out at the beautiful views. The lodges have saunas and spa bath to help you unwind; along with everything else that you would want when away from home. The quality of everything from the towels and dressing gowns to the soft furnishings to the pots and pans are of a very high standard. They are spacious and comfortable (we stay in a 3 bed one), mostly it's just 3 of us but sometimes more (6) it's big enough to cope with everyone very comfortably. We are looking forward to the lodges being updated - it will probably then get 5 excellent. One big down side is the cleaning could be better, unfortunately we have had to complain more than once about the standard; they do come back and clean but I'd rather not have to ask. In comparison to the other Devere Resorts the cleanliness is the worst; but the views are stunning and so private.
The grounds are well kept but the speed humps are a pain, don't really think they are needed. We don't use any of the hotel facilities when we're there so unable to comment.
