This was easily the best B&B we stayed at during our weeklong driving trip through Scotland. It is a spacious, beautiful house on the main square in the small town of Grantown-on-Spey which is in a National Forest. About a 30 minute drive from Inverness, this is a fabulous alternative to staying in a larger city and could be used as a base to explore the castles, whisky distilleries, and outdoor attractions of the area. Very reasonable prices for a large, well-appointed room with a modern, en suite bathroom. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and put together a tremendous breakfast. In addition to the "traditional Scottish breakfast" you get cooked everywhere else, they also offered a "Healthy Option" which we tried - meats and cheeses (sort of an Italian antepasta tray) instead of the heavy, greasy stuff everyone else orders. Very convenient to pubs and restaurants in town, yet very quiet despite the central location. we would definitely recommend this one to friends.
