Me and my partner stayed here and found this beautiful well run hotel to be an absolute joy to stay in! The food is good, breakfast is delicious not one fault, staff are very friendly and extra helpful, will be back soon to sample more beautiful food and be in great company.

I stayed at the star hotel with my boyfriend. The hotel was clean and tidy. The staff were so humble and delivered great customer service. Our room was simply beautiful and most importantly clean. Our room had a Jacuzzi and it worked a treat. The hotel has a boutique feel to it. Strongly recommend!!

We organised a birthday party at The Star Hotel. Lots of family members and friends we hadn't seen for years, so expectations were high. Emma, the delightful Manager, was a dream to deal with, very friendly and made everything so easy. We had our party in a lovely spacious function room, with a well stocked bar. The food was excellent, fresh and plenty of it too, and for a very good price. Bar staff were polite and helpful. All in all a really good day. Will now recommend our friends to have future parties at this great historic establishment, under the helpful assistance of Emma and her staff, Ten out of ten.

What a fabulous hotel, with plenty of character. Staff are very friendly and polite. Rooms cosy, free wifi. Food was good. Lovely roaring fire in the lounge to sit by. Spacious car park, but needs overhauling. Overall a great stay.

After being together for 14 years we decided to take the plunge and tie the knot after my wife looked around at venues we decided to have our reception at The Star as we were getting married at the town hall it was only a stones throw away my wife to be did all the organisation as work commitments took up my time, in the arrangements she was helped at every turn by the lovely Emma and her staff nothing was too much trouble and we were informed at every point what was happening The day itself went off without a hitch we were greeted with sparkling wine and a superb hot buffet the bar staff were courteous and pleasant we decided to have a laid back reception and the star let us use there sound system as we didn't want a D.J thanks to the bar maid Steph for getting our Ipad to work with the system, after we had tea coffee and cakes its a shame some of the food got left only for the reason that there was vast amounts and people had 2 and in some cases 3 helpings lol we had the bridal suite as part of the package and it is a lovely Arabian themed room breakfast was lovely and all I can say once again is thanks to all the staff that helped make the day a very special one XXX

Went in for a drink after a meal elsewhere in Great Yarmouth (the executive) and had a great meal. We walked into the star straight through to the bar, where awaited an intoxicated barmaid (I only draw this conclusion due to her ability to handle herself whilst serving our drinks). We asked for two g&t's and half a beer where we were 'challenged' on our choices for a reason that is unbeknown to us. The music, for a old picturesc hotel, consisted of kiss fm turned up to full volume, I commented on this to my family between us and yet again chalanged, and I quote "well that's abrupt" from the 'intoxicated' barmaid. Stood shocked and silent we left for a quieter room to enjoy out overpriced drinks. Lovely.
