4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

we stayed in a family room which is alittle dated but was very clean, this was a 2nd stay as we have family in norfolk .on this visit the terrace was closed due to high winds so we ate in the restaurant down stairs the food was brilliant myhusband had dover soul my daughter tuna steak and i had the pork bellly i did not have dessert butthe others did and loved them we all had starters .the wine list was very good also but our main reson for returning to this hotel is the staff could not fault any of them in any way what a great bunch of people first class service all round keep up the good work hope to return soon, and thank you. would have given excellent but have stayed in better family rooms for same money .

Thoroughly enjoyed a short break towards the end of March. Lovely hotel, staff went out of their way to help, We had the sea facing Estancia themed room, wonderful big bed, excellent bath & shower, handy fridge in room. Excellent breakfasts, the restaurant food and service was exceptional, the whole place has a nice feel to it.
Only slight downside was while room leaving time for us was early at 10.30am, the chambermaid was knocking on the door at twenty to ten, and then let herself in at 10 to 10, bit naughty that.
However didn`t spoil our stay which was a real treat, and would thoroughly recommend.i

Room Tip: Book via the hotel website.

We had stayed at the Imperial a few years ago and had been impressed. This time my wife and I stayed for the Easter Weekend and found that the hotel had improved even on our previous experience. The hotel was clean and well decorated throughout. The somewhat ancient lift still takes a little getting used to! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in/check out was very efficient. Although we stayed on a B&B basis we ate dinners in the hotel as well. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and plentiful. There was a good choice paticularly involving seafood and my wife said the kippers were wonderful. Dinners could be taken in the Bar or the Restaurant, we opted for the Bar. The food again was fresh and well cooked and portions were good. There were good choices in the menu as well as the daily specials.

Our room was clean and comfortable with wonderful sea views (together with views of the Wind Farm). It was well heated for which we were grateful as it was a cold weekend with some snow. There was a large ensuite bathroom and the whole room was kept very clean and well serviced during our stay.

There was a large wedding at the hotel on Easter Saturday but we were not disturbed at all. Although our room was at the front of the hotel, we were not disturbed by traffic noise.

The Hotel is only about 5/10 minutes walk from the start of the town centre, the pier and other attractions and has a large car park so we did not need to move the car once we had parked it. Access to the beach is almost opposite the hotel and we had some long walks along it.

The Hotel was a little more expensive than might be expected but in our view it was worth paying a little extra for the quality of the hotel. We have already booked for next Easter!

Room Tip: The rooms on the front are a little more expensive but well worth it for the view.

Had a perfect evening at Imperial Terrace restaurant. Food was scrumptious, service was attentive and knowledgable, amazing wine. Quality of ingredients was noticeable- although I didn't have room for dessert! :(
only issue that I felt dampened our night was that we couldn't find much of a bar to have a drink in after our meal!
However, yum.. cant wait to go back.

My main concern is about the price. Rates are about equivalent to the Sofitel in Lisbon. And the Sofitel is a high quality hotel in a fun town. Whereas the Imperial is a tired hotel with pretentious decor in a town that was (from what i've read, I could well be wrong) at its best in the mid 1300s when Edward III went invading Flanders.
Staff are friendly enough and the bar food is OK. Bathrooms are OK and there are sea views if you ask.

We stayed for one night only to finish off a short break and we're very glad we did. We stayed in one of the themed rooms (Villa Maria) with a balcony/seaview. Recently refurbished to a high standard the room was great and the bathroom fab! Yarmouth didnt look very exciting so we decided to eat at Cafe Cru and again we were glad we did. The food was the best we have eaten for a long time, service brill and the staff attentive, reasonably priced too. Breakfast and breakfast service also very good. Great stay and would definately return if in the area. Well run hotel with professional, but friendly staff. Only constructive critism would be to divide the two front balconys to make them private.

I stayed here for 3 nights with a large group of friends and family over the jubilee weekend last year. I was very impressed with the room quality, it was quite modern considering i was expecting a very tired, old looking room before arrival, the classic case of never judge a book etc.
Our breakfast and evening meals were included in the deal and every meal was fantastic. Ive never been to Yarmouth before but my wifes dad had paid for us all to go down and we had a great time. I would definately stay here again if i return to the area.
