Having visited this hotel recently I was suprised to read some of your recent reviews.
Yes the hotel is in need of an update but it seemed to me that this process is well underway. A new carpet was being laid in reception when we arrived & a new stone tile floor completed the day before.
I was concerned that if work was happening it would disrupt our stay. It did not, when I think of the horrors I have suffered in other places I think the planning team hear need to be applauded. We suffered no noise & only minimal dust.
The corridors are dated but as it was pointed out to me when I asked 'no point in doing them now with biulders equipment going up & down, bets to wait until that is finished. New carpets & corridors will soon look shabby if refurbished too soon' That person had a very good point.

The staff were all very friendly and food was good, especially breakfast.

“Needs A Make-Over”

Stayed one night at the Regency Dolphin Hotel on Saturday 28th January with my husband and son in a family room. The hotel receptionist was very welcoming and the staff are very friendly. Our family room was clean but very dated and had a huge damp patch on the ceiling. The bedding was however spotless and our bathroom looked like it had just been re-fitted. The hotel itself is very tired looking and desperately needs a huge make-over. The website pictures of this hotel are very misleading as you visualize a very modern hotel however this is not the case. Our family room was located at the top of the hotel which meant having to go up four flights of stairs which was ok for my 9 year old son and for only one night but i would imagine this could be difficult if you had a young child/children. Breakfast was fine but again you cannot help but notice that this hotel desperately needs to be re-decorated and updated. There is a "musty" smell through out the hotel and all of the carperts look like they have seen better days. If the hotel had a make over this would be a lovely place to stay as again the staff are very friendly and helpfull.

We were attending a Christian Crusade in Norwich and therefore most of the hotels were full in the area.
We found this to be an excellant small hotel, All the stafff were friendly and courteous.
The rooms were clean and well presented.
Breakfast had a good choice and plentiful.
Value for money - would definately stay here again.
I feel justified on rating this hotel as I am an hotel and travel consultant

“A Warm and Friendly hotel”

As a hotelier myself, I have cause to stay at the regency Dolphin Hotel about a dozen times a year. I find this hotel to be refreshingly different to all the other hotels that I have stayed in whilst visiting Great Yarmouth.

The Restaurant is good value for money and the bedrooms are of an acceptable 3 star standard. it is nice to see that there is investment in the hotel as I stayed in a room with a refurbished bathroom on my last stay there. the bar has also been improved.

Overall. good value with a friendly greeting on arrival and a speedy check out when leaving.

My family have just returned from a weeks at the Regency Dolphin hotel.
Our 2 children loved it. The facilities in the town & seafront were all in easy walking distance. The staff were helpful & friendly. The food was good, even to encouraging the children to eat by making the Pizza into a smiley face using cucumber & tomato with the beans as hair.

The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment programme & whilst work is taking a summer break, the areas that have been completed are looking good.

I would happily take my family back again.
