“Counting the weeks to going back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2011

A fantastic family run hotel with the service of a four star. We were welcomed by John, who carried in all our bags. The pool made our holiday, kept my daughter and me happy for hours. Drinks/bar snacks available all day and evening. Speedy service at breakfast, and it tasted delicious. Evening entertainment was a real bonus, bar area very comfortable and child friendly. Our family room was comfortable, tea and coffee supplied every day. Ensuite bathroom was on the small side, but adequate. We spent most of our time round the pool, or enjoying Great Yarmouth's many attractions, which are literally a two minute walk away. May and John were always available, nothting was too much trouble, and they were always smiling.

After staying with friends for one night at The Hotel Victoria over the bank holiday weekend, we were impressed with the hotel & it's location & decided to return for one week, to have a break from work.
John & May are helpful & friendly, their staff are friendly & polite. We managed to find free parking at the front of the hotel & John met us at reception. We had a warm welcome & were given our keys. We had a room in the new wing, as before, which was spacious, with a view of the sea. Our room had tea/ coffee making facilities, a tv & shower. It was kept clean with clean towels, etc, on hand daily. It was a good base for us, right on sea front! We were lucky & picked a week when the weather was hot. We did intend to use the pool, but the beach was right across the road!
Each morning we had a choice of cereals, fruit juices, tea/ coffee & a full english, which was very nice & served by attentive staff. Evening entertainment/ bar was provided, although most nights we went out for the evening/ meal. May & John organised a coach one evening to pick us & others up from different hotels for an evening at the theatre.
We had a lovely stay & have recommended The Hotel Victoria to our family & friends :)

Thought we would try here again, and glad we did. We got a room in the new Albert wing and very nice too.BBEM's were all very nice and the staff were always there looking after us. We had entertainment most evenings which made for good sing-a-longs etc. All in all a very nice week which we highly recommend. Thank you everyone there. Ray and Maureen.

The weather forcast said very hot so we decided to book a last minute hotel for the saturday night and found the hotel victoria on arrival the car parking was a little tight once parked we were met by john on reception who was very helpful our room was located on the second floor it was a bit small but clean with a good size bathroom and we had a quite a good sea view the room was ideal for a short break. In the evening there was entertaiment and a well stocked bar this made out to be a very good night breakfast was just right served by very polite staff, if we were staying longer we would of made use of the swimming pool overall the hotel is situated in a ideal situation and if john and may keep up there 100% hard work and dedication with a little tlc here and there this could gain 4 star status we will use it again many thanks.

I stayed at the Hotel Victoria for 2 nights on Friday 24/06/2011 and Saturday 25/06/2011 with my mum to have a short break. We both found teh hotel very good value but most of all what was impressive is how well the hotel is run. The owners and staff were very efficient and always willing to provide or help with whatever you need.

The food was very good, the hotel clean and everything we had available worked.

Although only a stone's throw from the seafront the hotel was in a quiet location but only a pleasant walk to the more busier parts of the town. I woudl have no hesitation recomending this hotel to others.

Now that the dust has settled after the Late May Bank Holiday I thought I would write a review to thank Mr Hemsley, his wife and staff for a wonderful break in Yarmouth over the late May Bank Holiday.

Perfectly situated for the many attractions the hotel provided a base for the group to set forth and do whatever they wished. Either together or indvidually. The evening entertainment proved to be a hit and served as a convenient meeting place for the whole group after the days rigours, whatever they may have been. Breakfast was plentiful without being over the top and well prepared and served. The new wing (in which we stayed) was great with well appointed rooms and although the single was small it nevertheless served its purpose.

The town itself was lovely with plently of sites, shows, shopping, drinking and eating establishments for all tastes. And if prepared to travel, not too far, there was more to see and do in nearby places and Norwich is within easy reach.

The weekend was a resounding success due in no small way to the hotel and the staff.

Thanks once again.
