“Wonderful place, relaxing, luxury at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed on a very cold weekend in January, could not have been more welcoming, the castle is stunning, luxurious and incredibly relaxing, we could not have enjoyed the weekend more, the pool and jacuzzi were wonderful, every little detail had been thought of, we had the luxury of a boutique hotel with all the home comforts, I cannot wait to go back

“Brilliant, what a place for a vacation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Top facilities and beautiful scenery, warm and welcoming. Everything you could need is provided, the kitchen is large and has all mod cons to make the stay just perfect.

“Words cannot describe how amazing Carr Hall Castle is ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Having heard about Carr Hall from a business colleague who stayed there, I was so excited when I was able to book it in the run up to Christmas this year.

My wife and I were treated to such an amazing welcome; there was a guard of honour as we drove up to Carr Hall Castle from a pack of Deer.

Carr Hall Castle exudes luxury from the moment you walk in to a cosy farmhouse kitchen with a wonderful fiery red Aga. The kitchen is excellently appointed and has everything you want, even down to a coffee machine, complete with Costa Coffee!

We enjoyed dinner on Friday evening in the dining room the dining table was one fit for a king and with the roaring wood fire we did not want to finish our meals.

In the living room there’s the most luxurious carpet which is so soft its good enough to sleep on. The 3D TV, Blue Ray player, Play Station, iPod docking stations gives one everything they could possibly want to chill out.

To bed and we had the pick of 5 amazing bedrooms, 2 en suites, 2 with Apple Mac’s and 2 with TV’s bigger than the one I have at home in the living room. The beds have the most comfortable mattresses and toppers, cushions to die for and soft furnishings befitting of a 7 star boutique.

We managed to drag ourselves out of bed the following morning and on route to the family bathroom, the view of the grounds covered in early morning frost and Deer grazing just yards away from the gates stunning.

We went for a swim in the private pool listening to our iPod complete with surround sound, and then could not resist celebrating in the hot tub with a glass of Champers (we’ve been married 6 months this weekend!). Watching the world go by planes flying past the crisp blue sky and the royal flag clapping in the wind, we could not do anything but relax!

That night we decided to watch Strictly in HD and the Final of I’m a Celebrity (Both my wife’s choice) and ordered a take away from Café Thai which is just a 5 minute drive away, they do deliver, however I’d recommend picking it up as it’s great to see the deer park at night with just your headlights to guide you.

It’s safe to say on Sunday we did not want to leave, but we decided to have a lovely walk in the grounds around the lake, by the water fall and in the little wood.

Terry thank you so much for such an amazing weekend, what a great way to celebrate our 6 month wedding anniversary and I can’t wait to come back in the Summer, I can see a BBQ on the cards!

“i felt like a princess in a modern day fairytale setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

Set in beautiful and immaculately kept grounds , Carr Hall Castle could be straight from a picture book. The entrance is impressive, past the deer park and the lake and then we arrive at what must be the most luxurious and cosiest castle in the world.
We were greeted by Graham who had prepared the castle for our stay. As a clean freak I was in my element. As he showed us around I marvelled at how perfectly spotless everywhere was and so beautifully inviting. The plush carpets, the gorgeous tasteful decor, rich warm colours and fabrics, beds with crisp white linen and soft pillows and cushions. The very best of everything. .luxury toiletries, televisions in all rooms, the best sound system in the pool area with selection of CDs. We would want for nothing.
Of course this is a home and quite the most beautiful one i've ever seen.
Every utensil we could need was in the kitchen with a vast array of crockery, cutlery and glasses and a fab coffee machine with pods as well as a huge box of a selection of luxury teas.Nicola had told me what was in the well stocked food cupboard so I knew what to bring to make breakfast. It was a delight to use the Aga which was left on for us. As was the heating ,so everywhere was always beautifully warm.
Our master bedroom had a spacious dressing room and getting ready for dinner felt so special. We had booked a table in the village and we had a wonderful dinner but we all agreed we were excited to go home to the castle.
So we did and had coffee in the castle before enjoying the pool and the hot tub before going to bed in what can only be described as a big soft cloud. The best night's sleep ever.

“Luxury beyond belief!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

This place really is a hidden gem. We stayed for 3 nights this summer and I was blown away by it. The setting is gorgeous, overlooking a deer park and the grounds are really private.
The Castle interior is fabulous, like something out of a glossy magazine, the owners have impeccable taste and great imagination. The contemporary furnishings blend really well with the original castle features.
Every bedroom is gorgeous, we especially loved the ‘secret’ bedroom on the second floor which also has it’s own bathroom and dressing room.
Sometimes when you view a property on the internet when you actually arrive the place doesn’t live up to the pictures but this place is much better than the pictures.
The indoor swimming pool is lovely, there is a lounge part where you can chill out if you don’t want to swim. We loved being in the hot tub especially at night, surrounded by the woods.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for the wow factor, whether there are 2 or 10 of you, definitely a great place to celebrate a special occasion or if you want to show off to your friends and family.

“Stunning property which lived up to expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

This is a stunning property. Our guests were unaware where we were travelling to, and the excitement it provoked coming up the drive was a moment we will remember for a long time.
The leisure facilities are excellent, the hot tub which is accessed by stepping straight out of the pool area was a hit with all. The interior of the house matches the exterior, the owners eye for design apparent in all rooms. The real surprise with the house was homely it felt. For such an spectacular home, it was easy to make ourselves at home. Relaxing straight away, as opposed to it feeling as if we were staying in a show home.
Fortunately the service we received matched the property. The enquiry and booking process was faultless with Nicola addressing our queries promptly. Nicola also helped in organising some additional services, namely a visit by a local beautician and chef. Both were excellent and delivered exactly what we were looking for.
In summary, an amazing property with service to match.

“Fantastic Luxury Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I booked the Castle for my birthday weekend as I wanted to stay somewhere different with my family. There were 9 of us & the Castle sleeps 10 so ideal for a group.
I drove up from London which took around 3.5 hrs, it was well worth it when I arrived.

This place is gorgeous! You see the cute deer in the park as you drive up to the Castle and it’s so private you’d never know it was there without directions. The interior is not what you expect at all – very stylish & luxurious a real blend of the old and new.

The kitchen is quaint with an aga (also a conventional oven if you want it too) & a great dining room with open fire. The lounge is beautiful too - you can see through the window to the pool. I also loved the conservatory with it’s gorgeous purple velvet sofas. You can watch the rabbits & squirrels in the garden while you sip your champagne!

The swimming pool was a big draw for my family, we loved it & there’s a lounge with tv & playstation in the pool area if you want to be all together but not everyone is swimming. We lived in the hot tub too, it has underwater lighting – very cool.
I pre-booked beauty treatments for us. The massage was fabulous & we all raved about our treatments, in such a great setting. We spent most of the weekend just wearing our robes – very relaxing.
We could have booked a chef but my brother is a great cook so we pre-ordered groceries on line which were delivered before we arrived so we ate in most of the weekend. We ventured out once to The Rock which is a few minutes from the Castle & the food was lovely.

As another treat you can arrange to do archery on the front lawn which everyone enjoyed. They even let children over 6 join in so that kept us entertained.

Even though I’ve never been to Yorkshire before I didn’t need to see much of it as once I got to the Castle I really didn’t want to leave. If felt like home, but a lottery winners home!

This place is a real hidden gem and I hope to go back again sometime in the not too distant future.
