“motel stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

This was a stop to break our journey on way back from Brittany.
We were not at all impressed with this hotel and did not think it should be 4 star rated.
The receptionist was not welcoming, very matter of fact.
Our room, although large was not very inviting, general cleanliness not up to scratch.

Room Tip: would not recommend staying here.

The rooms are a decent size with opening windows and air conditioning. Wifi available for free or for a charge for the super-fast service, worked well throughout the hotel. Pool area was immaculate with very good showers and hair dryers. Breakfast was well cooked with a good range of cereals, just 2 fresh fruits though. Dinner was excellent and was just under £80 for 3 people for 2 courses and drinks. The beds are very comfy.
The staff are universally cheery and friendly and very efficient.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, it is just 15 min by car from Portsmouth but is very quiet with lovely views of the water from the restaurant.

We chose to spend our 47th Anniversary at this hotel, although it is not very far from where we live the location is beautiful, our room had a sea view as requested. The cuisine in the restaurant was delicious and without fault, the service second to none!, We only stayed for 2 nights, but took advantage of the lovely swimming pool, steam room and jacuzzi. Every one of the staff whatever their station, gave excellent service and were very polite and helpful and friendly. The hotel was relatively quiet and we were able to sleep without noise disturbance, which considering that the time we spent in the hotel there were corporate events taking place was an amazing bonus.! Would hesitate to recommend this hotel and will probably be re-visiting.

Room Tip: The room we had was number 27 seaview and quiet

We chose this hotel as it was very close to a marina and central to other marinas in the general area. Our room (135) was lovely and overlooked part of the marina next door and was absolutely beautiful when the tide was in. It was clean and comfortable with nice complimentary toiletries.
The service at check in/out was quick and efficient and the young lady on reception (sorry i don't have name) was very helpful when I asked for information. The bar staff were fine though we didn't really utilise it much as we were only there 2 nights and we were mostly out and about.
Cannot comment on food as we ate out. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as it was a bit expensive so we went to Tesco in Havant about 5 mins away and there are plenty of local pubs for evening meals. We did not use spa or pool either.
All in all a very pleasant stay and I would recommend to anyone travelling to this area of Hampshire as within half hour drive of Portsmouth, Southampton, Chichester or Hayling Island itself.

We chose this hotel as it was away from Portsmouth, which we were visiting to see the Mary Rose and Victory for the second time.
When we arrived we had been allocated room 18-right next to reception. Not ideal, as there was a very noisy wedding reception going on as well. We complained that we might as well be a part of it as we could hear everything going on. It is very tired and our chairs had cigarette burns all over. Our key didn't work until we asked twice for it to be checked and we couldn't let water out of a sink. Thankfully we had booked a meal in Emsworth which enabled us to escape. At approx. 5am we were woken by dripping water. Upon investigation, there was water leaking from the air con unit right above the electrics (kettle etc) So-you have guessed, we didn't get any sleep either! AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Room Tip: Not no. 18!!!

Hi I have been coming to this hotel for over 10 years when attending various sailing events at hauling island sailing club. In the past I have always been happy with the hotel and my last visit being a 7 day stay in July 2012.

However on returning today I find a very different hotel. Today the temperature is 31deg c and on arriving at the room we immediately noticed the air conditioning had been removed from the room. We thought this may be a one off so we attempted to contact reception via the room phone which was not answered, so I went to reception to ask to be moved to an air conditioned room and was informed it had been removed throughout the hotel.

Ok so despite the heat we decided to grin and bare it !!!

I then head of to the bar to get a drink and ask if I could get some nuts or crisps only to be informed they are not available behind the bar any more but I can go down the corridor and get some from a vending machine if I like.

So I sit down and decide to catch up on emails so I ask the bar staff for the wifi key code and am told here it is it is free for 30mins then you have to go to reception to pay.

I know we are in a global recession but I believe they have missed the fact that service still counts for everything in there industry.

Finally the staff are at best indifferent to there customers if not down right rude

Only a one night stay so not easy to review.

- Hotel in a great position with a good value price!
- A little ugly on the outside
- Carpets: I'd like to meet the person who chose these!
- Very clean, large room with good facilities (Kettle, iron, safe, tea and coffee, mini fridge all included), comfy bed and clean sheets.
- Breakfast very good and friendly staff
- 128Kb/s Wifi for 30 mins for free..not acceptable as you can get fast, free WiFi in McDonalds!
- You have to pay to watch the TV from what I could work out!
- Wish we had air-conditioning as it was extremely warm!

Room Tip: Room 267 looks over a field but peaceful,
