“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We were looking for a place to eat on our way home and were recommended this place by a colleague, and what a hidden little gem it turned out to be.

Its a small cosy, atmospheric and very quaint little pub/restaurant that unless you know about it or get told about it, you'll pass it by without even a second glance.

We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night having just walked in, but the staff were very accommodating and were thoroughly pleasant throughout.

The food was simple yet absolutely full of flavour. The portions were generous in size and the homemade desserts were a delight.

Top this all off with a decent range or real ales and ciders and it makes this a fantastic place to visit - we'll definitely be visiting again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about us; it's very much appreciated!
Your comments were very kind, it's always great to know, as a small independently run family business, when all our hard work has paid off! We do try our hardest to stay true to our pub roots, all our Real Ales are hand conditioned & gravity fed, our selection of ales, lagers & cider are seasonal as is our wine menu. Our food is all homemade, & as you kindly said simple yes but very tasty!

Thank you again & we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Andy, Katie & all the team at The Rainbow & Dove!

“Beer Festival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

We took a stroll through woods and forest to get to the 1st annual beer festival. Great set up outside and once the band got going there was a great atmosphere! 10 real ales to choose from, slightly higher priced than other small festivals we'd been too and but when they stopped charging admission we got a complimentary half. Landlords joined in the dancing and helped make the friendly and welcoming atmosphere! Will definitely be going back! Didnt try the BBQ but it looked and smelled delicious

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us; all your comments were fair & helpful!

Andy & I are so pleased you enjoyed our Beer Festival - we put so much hard work into it & learnt so much from it we can't wait for next years one (which we are planning already! Make sure you put September 19th-21st in your diary) hopefully we will see you before then as well!

Kindest Regards

Katie

“Off the Motorway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013

Rustic little pub which offers delicious home-cooked food at very reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and efficient. Be prepared to wait up to 45 mins for food to be cooked...worth every bite though! A small gripe that you have to be comfortable with spiders in corners in ladies loos!

Thank you for your very kind comments!
We do take pride in our food - all of which is homemade & cooked freshly to order, hence sometimes there is a wait... However as you kindly stated, good things come to those who wait!

So very pleased you enjoyed your visit & hope to see you again soon!
(Please note; corners have been checked & spiders given their marching orders!)

Kindest Regards
Katie & Andy Keep

“Lovely chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We go to this pub several times during the year. The food is very good, always fresh and plenty on the plate. A good choice in the menu and on the specials board. Fantastic atmosphere, check out the history on their website: rainbowanddove .com

“Lovely little find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

I only found this lovely little pub because it was raining, I usually take my mum and dog out to the local garden centre up the road but the dogs not allowed inside so googled local pubs, called ahead was was told dogs can come in during the day. To be honest was not expecting much but as I had driven up from London was just glad to find somewhere to get a drink, have to say it was a great find, food and service are terrific, we had honey roast ham with egg and chips, and a lovely steak pie with fresh veg, it all tasted lovely and fresh, there was a lot of choices on the menu from sandwiches to full meals, all reasonable priced. I have been back a couple of times since and not been disappointed.
