This property has so much potential but really could use some updates. My boyfriend, sister and I stayed here for two nights. We had rooms 9 & 12 straight across from each other. 12 had a nice view out to the backside of the harbor. The rooms were large but the beds were a bit uncomfortable (I think the mattress was a bit old). Also, it was clean unto itself except that our towels were not changed out and there was a leftover from the previous guest. The reception was fantastic as the proprieter may be the nicestest person we met on our trip. He was friendly and quite helpful. The food was fantastic; breakfast was good and they serve Thai in the restaraunt room at night. It was very, very good. The location is very convenient to downtown and it is easy to get to all the main sights from the area. There is ample parking for your rental car. I would stay here again if I were in the Shetlands as it was an okay experience.

I have stayed here several times now and always found it to be good. It is reasonably priced and the rooms are fine although fairly basic. Parking is good. Conveniently, there are lots of single rooms, decoration is neutral and fresh. Working the TV is a challenging IQ test. The breakfast is excellent. Lots of interesting books to browse in the lounge on wet days!
