On the plus side, the staff were friendly and helpful, the view is lovely and the rooms were warm and dry.
On the downside £108 a night for a room with pink nylon sheets on the bed, a small bath, thin walls, no “do not disturb” sign provided. An acceptable room if it was half the price, but at this ort of price I would expect something nice if not a bit special. A pretty basic breakfast they were keen to clear away come 9.00 and usher us out of the restaurant. The décor of the hotel is dreadful, dark wood, terrible lighting, a real shame given the location and lovely views. I would only use as a last resort!

Stayed here for three nights. Food is excellent and bathrooms are clean and look recently refurbished but it is downhill from there on. Bedrooms are very basic and could do with a lick of paint. There are old carpets on the floor. My room was very dusty on arrival.Staff at main reception could do with a training course on customer care as very off hand and really not interested in their customers. Staff serving in resteraunt however were very friendly and helpful.

i found my stay to be very pleasurable. the views and atmosphere were a joy and make you feel warm and welcome. the hotel manager did his upmost to answer any questions and went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. i found the staff to be very helpful and my highest compliments to the chefs the food was delicious and was always served with a smile!!!!!!! my highest regards and thanks to mr moulder and his team of staff who will have my custome for years to come!

I have to disagree with the trip advisor from Kelso. I have been travelling to Lerwick for approximately 8 yrs now, on average 4 times per year. I have stayed regularly at the "Lerwick" and have always found the service to be excellent and the food also.
