“Simply excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

We've been thinking of all sorts of complicated and nice things to say about our three days with Pat, however in the end it really is best to keep it very simple. Pat gave us a great time, she is a real professional and a charming person to be with. Her expertise and enthusiasm are really tangible. We saw most of the major historical sights, she gave us lots of back ground information, her planning was spot-on. She sets standards to which most other guides can only aspire. Thanks you very much and see you soon.

“Loved it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Pat is such a warm person and an extremely knowledgeable guide. We have nothing but good things to say about our time on Orkney, except that it wasn't long enough!

“Personalised, professional and rewarding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

We very much enjoyed our day touring amazing Orkney with our guide Pat Stone. From our first contact Pat was very thorough and professional and we were quite sure that the communication between us would ensure a worthwhile experience, and she certainly lived up to those expectations. Our interests were mainly about family history and she was able to not only locate the ruins of the family farm but spoke to neighbours, organised a meeting with a distant relative and we met the local laird! We would not have been able to do those things without Pat's local knowledge and connections.
Pat's interest in archeology was also evident as we toured the Neolithic digs, viewing a piece of 5000 year old pottery that had been dug up just that day as well as meeting a fascinating Orcadian at the farm museum. Overall it was an incredible day, one of the highlights of our trip and we would highly recommend her tour to other visitors wanting to see and understand this amazing place.

“Fantastic Three Day Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Pat Stone planned the perfect three day tour for us. Our first priority was the Neolithic World Heritage Sites. Pat took us to an overlook so that we could see the Heart of Neolithic Orkney and appreciate the location of the sites, then shared her vast knowledge about each of the sites. It was an inspiring day. Because we were traveling with Pat, we got a glimpse into the local culture and met some great local folks. We also learned to appreciate "tray bakes" and other local foods at the lovely cafes to which Pat introduced us. Orkney is definitely an intriguing and beautiful place and if/when we go back, we will definitely ask Pat to travel with us.

“Superb Neolithic education in the Orkneys”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Pat Stone picked us up from our hotel in Kirkwall and proceeded to give us a marvellous day exploring the neolithic treasures of the island as well as providing personal vignettes which added a wonderful element of humour to the day. Nothing was too much trouble for Pat - finding the best book shop offering a wide selection of archeological books, locating a chemist en route to Skara Brae for a particular body lotion, and selecting a relaxing restaurant for lunch with preordering so that we were able to maximise time spent exploring the island.
Following the day with Pat she emailed several archeological links to us as reference for more reading and learning.
Both of us would like to return to the Orkneys for another day spent with Pat to further our education of the history of the world.
