We stayed 3 nights at Ardconnel, which is a welcoming and friendly guest house. The hosts Margaret and John are very helpful and attentive. John picked us from the NorthLink ferry from Aberdeen, which arrives in Kirkwall at 11 pm and gave us lift to the town following morning. Even offered to bring our languages on the afternoon of the day we checked out to board a ferry to Westray.
Room is spacious and clean, nicely decorated, comfortable bed, TV, Wi-Fi, Tea coffee making facility (with Kit-Kat), and very good en-suit. Great choice of breakfast (including smoked salmon and egg on toast) cooked to order.
Ardconnel is located about 1.5 miles from the town centre overlooking the Kirkwall marina. Nice country views and scenic walk to the town. Great value for money and recommend to anyone.
