We enjoyed another fantastic 3 night stay at the Dog Inn in August, with some of the members of our classic car club, booking 4 rooms. Arriving on a Thursday evening, we enjoyed an interesting quiz and great food – we tried a very nice black pudding and a prawn starter, followed by the steak deal, thai chicken stir frys, salmon and a home made beef and ale pie. A very varied menu, difficult to choose from! The Inn was packed again with a lively atmosphere all weekend. On Friday night, we enjoyed listening to a local country folk band, singing well known songs, which soon had everyone foot tapping and singing along with another great meal and on Saturday night, we relaxed in the restaurant enjoying more great food, then sat in the lovely bar area. We were well looked after, from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. The comfortable rooms were a delight to sleep in after two days working setting up for our show. Our breakfasts were delicious, starting with cereals or fruit juices, with two members of our party then opting for the Dog Inn Vegetarian breakfast of 2 eggs, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, sauté potatoes (lovely), fried bread and hot buttered toast, while the other five members of our party opted for the Dog breakfast comprising of 2 eggs, black pudding, tomatoes, bacon, mushrooms, fried bread and toast. These breakfasts really set us up for the day. A huge thank you to the owner of the Dog Inn, the manager and great team of staff. Always smiling and very very helpful. We will be back again next year booking more rooms next time. This is a fantastic place for a car club to stay at as a group or any group for that matter. Very highly recommended. We have already booked 4 rooms for June and August next year again!
We booked 4 rooms and all were excellent.
