We came across this lovely restaurant after a long drive made worse by delays on M40 and M1. We were greeted promptly and shown to our table. The menu was a la carte only being a Friday evening but there was an excellent selection including some interesting takes on fish and duck dishes that I had not tried before. (I have to confess I tend to comapre all Indian restaurants with my favourite in Reading, The Garden of Gulab but at the end of this meal I must say it would give it a real run for money and if it were closer I may even give it preference!)
We had startes of onion bhaji and duck (for me). Both flavoursome. Very balanced spices with the duck and not overpowering on the heat. Mains were very good. The Thali was very generous on meat portion size and unfortunately my husband could not manage it. I had monkfish which came with a medium sauce which complemented the fish well. Excellent. Staff were courteous and friendly. If I were local I would be here often.
Good mix of family, male groups and couples in on this evening.
