Visited on a Saturday lunchtime and didn’t enjoy it. The menu in the window offered a reasonable mix for a simple lunch and looking inside the bar/café environment looked good. The room for reasonably busy, about half full and the waitress told us there would be a 10 minute delay with meals as they were busy – OK so we chose our drinks and after a delay they came and we asked to order but were told that the kitchen was too busy to take orders. As we had been there over 10 minutes I got up to walk out but the waitress then and asked the kitchen (open plan so we can see & hear) for "permission" to take an order and was told – “not yet, shortly”. We decided to stay and wish we hadn’t. Eventually, with a push from the manager our order was taken and after another extended delay we eventually got our food. We ordered simple items - filo prawns (straight from the freezer), tacos (no salsa or guacamole arrived) and chicken/chorizo melt. It was sloppy and unappetising. Three in the kitchen should easily be able to cope with the numbers that were there, based on the simple menu.
What this place tries to be, and should be, is fine but it fails because the business is run for the benefit and whim of the kitchen and chef rather than for the benefit of the customers and unless that changes it will never deliver service or value. Every table around us was frustrated with the delays and I would guess they, like me, won’t be returning
