“Free trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

A free small museum with a dinosaur skeleton in the floor that small children will love to walk over. I would rate this museum highly for primary school aged children as quite hands on. They also have a free activity sheet and very good value gift section. The section is quite small but they sold some natural gem and rock items that were excellent. I bought a candle holder that is a natural rock, sorry cant remember name that the tea light glows through and it was only £5.

The two members of staff on duty were very helpful. The museum is in a park that has a couple of interesting statues, a small pond, bandstand and good children's adventure playground.

“Great little museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Although small in size, the museum is packed with interesting items.
Lots for the youngsters (& ancients like me) to inter-act with. The art gallery is also small but showcases local artists very well.
If you are in Loughborough, it is well worthy of a visit, being set at the edge of beautiful Queens Park.
The staff are knowledgeable, & very friendly.
Great way to spend a couple of hours.

“A lovely addition the the park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

I have visited this museum as a child and I think it is a lovely addition to queens park- especially for families with children who need some entertainment.

It has some nice bits and pieces to look out, a lot of kids seem to enjoy standing on the glass floor looking down on to the dinosaur remains!

Outside there is a bird sanctuary which was always my favourite- there is also a little cafe to enjoy some tea and cake.

The museum is suitable for younger children- there is a little ones corner with books to look at and games.

The museum is free to enter, and adds to a cheap day out for a family... Fun in the park, a look around the museum, stop off for an Ice cream then walk through the bird enclosure.

“Free and well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a lovely little museum in Queens Park which is fairly central to the town. I live in Loughborough and have taken my children since they were toddlers. They love it and as they've grown have found different things to interest them. They still ask to go in when we are in town and they are 10, 8 and 6!! Inside, they have an area for frequently changing exhibitions, many of which are very well executed and inspiring. They also have a small gallery area for local artists, some of whose work you can buy. Though it isnt critical to a museums success at the entrance they have small gifts that you can buy, much of which is pocket money priced which is a revelation! Finally, they have a lovely cafe attached which on a nice day has a decent sized outdoor eating area. This is also next to the parks aviary to keep little ones entertained. Overall, if you are in Loughborough, the museum is free and engaging - you can't say that about much these days!!
