My wife and myself went for a meal in April to celebrate her birthday. We have been to the Carlton Manor for many years, since it has gone under new management the Carlton Manor is truly a wonderful place for its fantastic service and the food really is exquisite. Our waitress could not do enough to ensure our dining was a fantastic experience she was very friendly with a smile the whole time, the restaurant Manager came over to see if there was anything else we needed which ended up im myself and my wife having a lovely conversation with him. a true gent. They are a credit to the Carlton Manor. The grounds are beautiful but the real deal breaker is the decor, very sytlish and sophisticated.

We have just had the most wonderful experience of eating Sunday lunch in the De-Mure Restaurant. On arrival we were greeted by the ever happy, friendly Maria opening the entrance door and warmly welcoming us. We have had a drink in the bar before when walking and Maria is always such a pleasure such a professional, happy, courteous and friendly receptionist. We were waited on in the restaurant by Donna and Octavian. Their customer service was the best we have ever experienced (and we have eaten in some lovely restaurants). Watching them they had that rare quality of making every customer feel that they were special and important to them. The food was to die for, absolutely beautifully presented and delicious. We feel privileged to now have such a fine restaurant and bar area within walking distance. We will definitely. return (many times).

When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by the door being opened for me and a warm smile from reception, a nice touch. After check in I was shown to our beautiful room (lovely and spacious, on the ground floor). We dined in the fine dining restaurant in the evening, the food was equisite and a great choice of wine available. Whilst drinking our coffee the Chef came and spoke to my fiance and I, a nice personal touch.

Room Tip: Very large room on ground level, room number 8

Me and 3 friends met yesterday for lunch prior to picking up our children from school, I couldn't fault the food which was excellent, the owner came and spoke to us asking our opinion and also telling us his vision!! One of the friends I was with had a meal In the fine dining restaurant when it first opened said it was excellent which must be right as she has already booked to go again.

The Carlton Manor has only just reopened after a complete refurbishment. The new owner has obviously spent a fortune on it.

As you can see from the pics I have added, the bar food is very well presented and all top quality.

My father had the haddock with hand cut chips and mushy peas and he said it was the best haddock he had ever eaten!

Our lunch was very good indeed and would definitely recommend it.

Myself and my wife visited Carlton Manor 16th Feb to dine in there new restaurant ! unfortunately the experience was nothing short of being a total disappointment .

Starter wood pigeon over cooked ( very small portion ) , main: Turbot was served on its on with no vegetables, fish wasn't hot / cold plate .

So in in brief over rated, over priced, very little portions of food top off with poor atmosphere. Will not be going back as there is better all round restaurants in Norwich
