“Lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

I was taken here for lunch on Wednesday by my fathers cousins who I was visiting for a couple of days. What a lovely place, excellent location right on the sea front and close to the town centre. The bar and restaurant is large with plenty of seating inside and outside on the terrace. It was slightly too cold to enjoy a meal outside so we opted for an inside seat! The menu is quite extensive with plenty of homely, freshly cooked meals to choose from as well as a carvery option with the normal fare! The staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was good considering how many customers were visiting. Highly recommended!

Thank you for such a glowing report. It is great to see customers enjoying our service and our surroundings. Hopefully soon the weather will improve and we can all be out on our sea view terrace bathing in the sun!

The location was excellent,on the sea front only 10 mins walk from the station and the town centre. The room was a little dated with the bath enamel chipped but it was a good sized bath with hand held shower. Plenty of towels and nice toiletries. Another good touch was 2 bottles of complimentary water by the well stocked tea making facilities. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The terrace was lovely for sitting with drinks or coffee. All of the staff that we met were very pleasant and friendly. We would stay here again.

Many thanks for such a positive review. We are currently in the process of renovating our rooms, so you should be more satisified with your bath on your next stay. Your comments will be past onto the staff, who love hearing that their hard work does not go unnoticed. We look forward to your next stay.

Regards, James Roberts (Hotel Manager).

I am currently working in Lowestoft and regularly stay here, Room 113 is the best but failing that try 103 / 102 or 108 Try to avoid the 2nd floor as the water pressure is poor.
The food is good and you can get a great hearty breakfast. Great Sea front location with other restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: 113 Suite room 103 Good size SV Kingsize 102/108 Good SV Doubles

A hotel that lives off the modern and very nice bar & terrace that has been added, to sit there having a drink over looking the sea is very nice.
BUT - the room and the rest of the hotel needs to align itself to its "add on" and get modern.
Room - dated & dirty (in places)
Bed - would question if sheets have been changed ( number of bits when turning back the quilt)
mattress dips in the middle , maybe a new one would help.
Bathroom - disaster area, mouldy shower curtain, shower head dirty only 3 holes allow water through,( good job I have no hair to wash), soap dish falling off wall.
Hairs around the toilet (not mine)
Positives - the carvery was great value for money and of good quality.
The hotel bar area is very busy , so they do know what it needs to bring people in.

Summary - would come here for drink and food , but sorry not to sleep ......

Had a couple of nights at this hotel in Lowestoft, its located right on the sea front not too far from the town centre easy walking distance. Very good breakfast and the hotel does a very good value carvary. The room we had could have done with updating and a new shower head and hose is needed in the shower room.

Stayed for 2 nights.Room was large with king sized bed, rooms in hotel have recently been given a makeover.
We were among a group of about 80 - 90 dancers,so the 2 staff on duty at breakfast were kept busy with taking orders and bring food to table but did it with smiles on their faces.Food was hot and very tasty.
Dinners were also very well cooked and their were no complaints from anyone.
Price of the weekend was very reasonable.
Would use again.

Stopped off at this hotel prior to a gig for a drink and that was enough.

Most of the draught beers were not available and the one that was on didn't taste at all good. The worst part was the overwhelming smell as you entered the place. Cannot put my finger on what it was, but it was bad!! At a push I would liken it to stewed cabbage!

Will not be returning.
