“Lovely lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Have just returned from a lovely extended weekend in Lymington. On walking around the area we came across the Mayflower by accident and thought we would give it a try.
We were very glad we did. We only wanted a lunch but what we had was very nice and the service was good. Prices were reasonable.
I would return again,

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

We had a look at the recent reviews for Lymington and thought we'd try the Mayflower. We were looking for a lunchtime venue where we could take a small dog. A phone call confirmed that dogs were allowed in the bar. There was a good choice of bar meals to suit all tastes including vegetarian. We were made very welcome; the food and service were excellent. Did not see the views as we would couldn't eat in the restaurant at the back (quite rightly, no dogs allowed in the restaurant). Too busy chatting to worry about the views anyway. Thank you Trip Advisor: If we hadn't checked the website, we might have stayed in the town centre and missed this little gem.

“Great dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Great dinner in Lymington. We had Venison Burgers, which were great. The restaurant has a good outdoor seating area. It is worth making reservations for the busy hours.

“Ideal location to eat if out walking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have not tried the restaurant as an eating venue, but I have used the lunch time bar meal service once or twice. This its a fine pub set in a very pleasant area midst the boatyards and river at Lymington. On a sunny day the garden is a nice place to sit and eat and watch the boating fraternity ply their trade. The bar menu is good. It has variety, the portions are good and the food is well presented. The staff who serve the food are generally more friendly than the bar staff, but I can cope with that if the value for money remains strong. A place I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a lunch time venue, or if you are walking the sea walls and lanes of the surrounding area, and looking for an ideal spot to stop for refreshment

“Lovely food, great view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

The food was lovely - the curry and the chicken sizzler. The children's menu is ok, although my 12 year old struggled with the adult menu, choosing sausages which came sitting in a platter of grease. Neither meal came with vegetables of any sort. Would go again as its a lovely view of the ferries and yachts and serves all day so you can get an early evening meal if required. The curries are great, but careful menu choices needed otherwise.
