My fiancee and I have today left this wonderful place having spent 4 nights there. This is by far the best room (be that hotel or B&B) that we have ever used. I can only re-iterate the other comments on here and make this review somewhat selfishly as I don't want to make it so popular that I will find it difficult to book again in the future.
My friends and fiancee call me a snob as I can usually find fault with anything. But, my stay here was of such a high standard I am, for once, unable to find fault. I usually find that whenever you stay somewhere there is that little something that you need but forgot. Not a problem here. Every little thing is thought of. Had there have been something not provided for, I have no doubt that Pauline and Andy would have assisted if they could.
Pauline and Andy seemed genuinely interested in what our planned activities were. But the weather was typically British and meant that some of our plans were up in the air. Without asking, Pauline and Andy did some research and found other activities that we would enjoy based on our previous conversations.
The room itself was large and beautifully decorated. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and after a long day in the driving rain we couldn't wait to get 'back home' to the B&B. The bathroom was again beautifully finished. Both rooms were spotlessly clean.
The breakfast choice is that of a large hotel - fruit, yoghurt, waffles, a variety of breads (and a toaster so its toasted how you like it and doesn't go cold or soggy), full english, scrambled, poached or fried eggs, choice of cereals and even cereal bars in case you need to grab and run. Whilst eating breakfast you sit in the conservatory looking at the beautiful garden. In fact, it is so beautiful, the local wildlife came to visit every morning (rabbits, squirrels and birds).
In fact, the choice offered here exceeds that of anywhere else i've stayed. In the room, you have a choice of various teas, coffee, hot chocolate, malt drink and biscuits in case you get peckish. You get fresh milk for the room everyday. None of the cheap packaged rubbish you get elsewhere, the choice is all high quality.
Pauline and Andy were so lovely that we felt that we were staying with friends. In fact, we nearly bought them a bouquet of flowers to say thankyou for letting us stay, until we remembered that we were actually at a B&B.
I wish we didn't have to leave and hope that there will be availability in the future for us to stay again.
