“Lovely hotel for the disabled and their carers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

I recently stayed at The St Annes Hotel with my disabled mother and my 18 year old daughter. We were unsure about what to expect as we've never stayed anywhere like this before, however we were pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is clean, bright and contemporary. The staff are warm, friendly and very helpful. The food is simple home cooking in most cases and we enjoyed the meals on the whole, the bacon is exceptional I must say :)

We booked last minute so didn't get a sea view but my mum's room was very well equipped for her needs and she was comfortable in there. My daughter and myself shared the Penthouse room which was huge and very nice (although there's only skylight windows there, so only a view if you tiptoe to look out).

The evening entertainment was very good, there are usually 2 acts on and the quality of their performances was excellent, we all enjoyed the shows (even my 18 year old daughter joined in and had fun).

On the whole this is a great place to stay for anyone with a disability, either with your own carer/family or alone as they provide care packages to suit your needs if requested (my mum has booked to go back again on her own with a care package).

It might seem a bit different/strange at first but after a day there we felt at home and got to know the other guests and felt very welcome :)

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: For a sea view, book well in advance.

Excellent caring staff especialy the Manager Bill, who did more than any manager could be expected to do when my aunt was taken to hospital on the third day of their holiday on 10/8/2012, everyone was so kind and caring to my uncle and myself. Uncle said the food was good and the entertainment was also good, if not for my aunt being taken ill they would have had a lovley holiday, also excellent location.

The new manager and his staff were excellent, facilities for disabled guests were good , hoists, wet rooms, cot-sides etc .food in the retaurant was of a high standard.
all in all the staff did all they could (and more!) for our party
there was also excellent entertainment on every evening and day trips every day, the staff even arranged for our party to visit the zoo which was not on the list, all we had to do was ask!

We have just spent a Five day mid week break at this Hotel . It has many good points for Customers with Disabilities large rooms with wet rooms and hoists and other equipment available on request.
It has recently required a new manager and almost a complete new set of staff. We found all the staff to be very helpful but very busy and hard working. We had a couple of minor issues with our room and these got quick attention and rectified. I do believe the Hotel has had some refurbishment having read last years comments. I have to say I found the dinning room was noisy as it is below ground level and due to the fact it is used by customers with verious issues who make a lot of noise. I would not recommend this hotel for a quiet break as it is used by large groups of people. The food was ok a bit school dinnerish and cool on occassions. The evening entertainment consited of either one or two singers and a game of Bingo. The singers did try engage the customers and those in groups enjoyed this , however the area is not large and so very noisy , the new manager has adjusted the times of the entertainment and this suited us . We had our own transport with us and only had three disabled customers with us and enjoyed our trips out to the Zoo and Lake District. Our Customers enjoyed the holiday as a whole.
The Hotel I understand was not built as a Hotel for the Disabled but has been adapted on the whole this has been dome well, however it really could do with another lift and a bigger one. As the Hotel caters with customers with disabilities and older clients most need to use a lift and so at meal times they get busy and ques form.
Overall it was a good hotel for people with disabilities a bit like a home but as we know facilities for the disabled are limited. We were a group of three customers and three carers.

A family run hotel offering a warm welcome to our party of 24. The staff could not do enough to make our stay a memorable occasion and made sure any minor problems were attended to immediately. The hotel had had a recent refurb. and this showed. Our room and bathroom were clean, spacious and equipped to suit our needs. The hotel arranged 2 day trips for us using its own specially adapted coach.Meals and evening entertainment were of a good standard. We will definitely return in the future.

I took a family friend, a 92 year old lady to the St Annes Hotel, (Bond Hotel Lytham). This hotel has been refurhished and the reviews below should be disregarded. We had a brilliant time. Everywhere was clean, beds, carpets etc. Every room has a wet room, and all the equipment to make your stay easier such as hoist, commodes, bed guards. etc... The food was excellent and the service second to none. Nothing too much trouble. I chose this hotel because it has some parking, but also there's free on-street parking nearby as well.
