“Great staff at a nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

I stayed here in February on a business trip. I found the staff at the hotel to be helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and was well presented. I had two meals in the restaurant which was an evening meal and breakfast the following day both of which I enjoyed thoroughly.I enjoyed a large warm and very comfortable room which was well appointed The hotel is well placed for shops etc and is also on the beachfront which a February stay did no justice. All in all a good stay and I will return there when I am back in the area,

Room Tip: The rooms I could not comment however the SatNav takes you to the rear of the hotel.

Have stayed here on several occasions, always good value , but recent restaurant refurbishment helps to take the stay / hotel to the next level.
Good choice of products and reasonably priced. Service is always friendly and efficient, well done !

Room Tip: Rooms on the front are best, great views of the sea.

Good Morning,
I am so pleased to hear that you approve of the refurbishment of our new restaurant "Coast", we still have a few finishing touches to do but we are all really excited about it, not just the look and feel but also the seasonality of the menus and local produce. Its always great to get a pat on the back, so thank you very much for that.
Hope to see you in the hotel again really soon.
Kind Regards
Victoria

Stayed here for three nights due to work commitments and on the whole this place is OK.

Clean rooms, warm enough to be comfortable and an OK size.

Girls on reception, guys behind the bar and waitresses in the restraunt were all really pleasant and friendly.

Food at night wasn't brilliant, gammon was quite tough, but there are a large number of decent looking places to eat within a ten minute walk, so no real worries there.

Breakfasts were good, big selection and piping hot.

I think next time I'd ask for a sea view, as it would add a lot to the stay.

We stayed for two nights on a half board deal. The location is superb with beachfront and shops close at hand. The room, though a bit of a climb with 2 dogs, was absolutely fine with plenty of room and clean. The promised shampoo available from reception turned out to be the same generic liquid soap as in the rooms. Dogs are allowed in some of the lounges and dinner was served with full white tablecloth experience. Perfect for dog owners who enjoy the full hotel experience. Staff were very friendly and attentive in general. Breakfast menus were quite superb and a point was made of a good breakfast. The second morning was a bit hit and miss with no hollandaise on the eggs benedict and chef initially "too busy" to provide the ham and cheese they advertise. Happily by the second request another member of hotel staff provided this beautifully presented. The evening menu was far better than I expected at this price, interesting and local. On the first night it was ok (the potatoes in the hotpot needed a bit longer, the tomato salsa tasted only of onion. the crab croquette was a bit dry and everything needed a good dollop of seasoning). However, it was beautiful to look at. On our second evening we ate from the specials menu which wasn't available on the Monday. This was the tastiest food I have ever had at a chain hotel! Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly. The hake with mash, kale and a lemon butter sauce was to die for. The waitress confirmed that the chef working that night was different from the previous night. This is a really lovely hotel and very good value.

Good Evening,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your extensive review it really does help us improve in all aspects of what we have to offer you the guest. I am of course disappointed to hear that on your first evening your meal was below par, however as mentioned it has been a valuable tool to help the team grow and improve.

Many Thanks

first stay at this hotel and will certainly visit again. Restaurant is lovely and the food excellent. Staff are most helpful. Reception area is bright modern and welcoming. Our room could have done with a little TLC, but on the whole was acceptable.
