Description: This is an amazing cafe with great decor, great staff and even better hoem made food. Its kinda French/boutique style with all the usual youd expect on the menu plus more (big portions). This place always seems busy, its familt run i guess. I had a panini, which was £6 and came with salad, pasta, crisps garnish etc - I wasnt starving but ate every scrap. Best daytime place in town.

“Has an appealing appearance.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

This cafe has an appealing appearance from outside, but is unfortunately slightly disapointing once inside. The decor is shabby chic and quite nice but their specials are understated written signs which get lost in the 'busy decor', leaving the customer not sure of whats on offer. The main problem is a very very noisy refrigerator making a terrible din the whole time. If they cant afford to purchase a new one then at least put some background suitable music on to cover it up a bit. We saw a group of ladies who left without ordering while remarking that they couldnt stand 'that' noise going on. The staff were pleasant but it seemed like it was being run as a hobby rather than a professional business.
Food was good and attractively displayed. Its a shame because as It could be so much better.

“Not the best!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We visited this cafe for a light lunch on a visit to Ross on Wye. The decor appears to have been done on a budget! It all looked a bit messy. Although the idea of being able to see your food prepared is sometimes appealing, here it didn't seem to work so well. Menu was limited, cutlery not very clean, food average but a little expensive. Lack of toilet a big disadvantage!!!

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

My Boyfriend and I visited Hunky Dorey today looking for a quick bite to eat at lunchtime. Disappointed in the fact they had no diet drinks the only soft drinks available were coke, juice or water. Not one to be put off, I ordered an Americano coffee instead and my other half an orange juice. My coffee was presented to me with a dirty looking teaspoon, you help yourself to sugar from a large desert bowl in the middle of the table. Orange juice was okay but clearly not a premium brand. To eat I ordered a sausage baguette which came out with luke warm sausages accompanied by approximately 4 crisps, a small side salad, pasta and coleslaw. Have to say the baguette was very tasty, just a shame the filling wasn't sure if it was supposed to be hot or cold. My boyfriend ordered the bacon cheese and pineapple melt, which came out with cold bacon, being under the melt section one would expect the bacon to come out hot as well as the cheese. There was no salt and pepper available on the table, and the flowers on all the tables had seen better days. Cutlery was placed onto the table in a pile in front of us with no napkin and we were given 2 forks and 3 knives so a little more attention to detail wouldn't go a miss. Overall felt it was overpriced for what we received and wouldn't return.

“Breast feeding friendly????”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

A few friends that were part of the local NCT group did a survey on businesses in Ross that welcome breast feeding mothers into their establishments. This was not one!
As a mother who breast fed her child I will not go back.
The food was very average.
