We stayed at this hotel for a weekend whilst attending a wedding at a near by hotel. It's on a fantastic location over looking the estuary with he most amazing view from our room. There is parking on site very handy after a long drive from London. The room, a beach room, had recently been renovated to a high standard. Very bright and modern of a little on the cosy side but had all we needed. Was nice to be in a small building away from main house so we came and went as we pleased without seeing a soul! Some may find the fact that there is no telephone in the room to call for things like extra towels a pain but adds to the charm of this small hotel. Only small moan was that our bed had not been made so we asked for this to be done whilst we were out but it never got done. Not the end of the world. The manager Oli was very helpful and friendly. 5 minute walk from centre of salcombe with restaurants and pubs and the ferry over to the beach.

There are apartments available and the pool wasn't open when we went but we are planning to come back later in the year. Compared to other hotels in the area you can't beat sunny cliff for price and location. Lovely weekend in sunny salcombe!

We have been staying here now for many years, each of the apartments has different features, all are now lovely fresh and bright. There is a relaxed feeling here that we get nowhere else, you are on holiday from the moment you arrive. Ollie and his colleagues provide just the right level of friendly care and attention to detail to ensure everything runs smoothly. Some of the recent upgrades are very welcome and we are sure a constant program of improvements will keep this wonderful place so special for us. 'Just home from two night stay in "Smugglers Cove" studio, perfect for a long weekend or more, and can't wait to return for a longer stay in May. Words can't describe the location!

Wow! What can I say when we arrived it was pitch black and had no idea of the view, however the room itself was beautiful, clean, bright and welcoming. It had everything we needed and we were thrilled.
On waking up we were completely blown away by the view from our window. Even on a November morning the sun glistened off the sea and left us speechless. We spent a very long leisurely morning just enjoying the view and bathing in the glorious sunshine.
Couldn't recommend any higher, it was perfect for us with many great places to eat so close by. Would definitely return in a heartbeat.

A beautiful hotel with apartment facilities (in which we stayed). Some of the best views of Salcombe and is a truly gorgeous place to wake up to! I couldn't fault the service or the staff at all and would thoroughly recommend anyone to visit here. A lovely swimming pool and only a short walk into town make this a great location to stay in Salcombe. Would definitely visit again!

Having visited Salcombe on numerous occasions, we've stayed in a variety of different establishments over the years. The Sunny Cliff has been the best by far. In my opinion the location and sea views are second to none! Located in between the town and north sands beach, it offers the best of both worlds.

My girlfriend and I stayed in smugglers cove for a long weekend and wished we had booked for a whole week. The room was very clean and the linen and towels were excellent. The facilities are superb, especially the heated outdoor pool, which was a real treat.

Would highly recommend the sunny cliff hotel to anyone.

What a find this place is, from start to finish we couldn't have been more thrilled with the Sunnycliff. Sunny natured and friendly staff and the most outstanding view in Salcombe.
We have been holidaying in Salcombe for 12 years and this is simply the best spot we've found. Plenty of extra's that we liked as well - pool at the waterside, garden and terrace, easy and short walk to town and we loved the walks around the hotel.
Next year we'll bring the rib and moor it here as well, like I said, Super.

We arranged to stay at sunny cliff for a couple of nights in high season. We were told the room would be ready at two thirty but when we arrived at 2.20pm it seemed they were nowhere near ready for us. We told Ollie we would nip for lunch and come back. We were back at 3.30pm when we could find nobody to help us. We were left waiting for half an hour with no help at all. At about 4pm Ollie did turn up with no apologies for our long wait. He took us to our room which was still being cleaned. It then turned out that despite booking our rooms for two adults and four children the room had only been prepared for two children. We asked Ollie to sort this out and eventually at 6.30pm the hotel brought two foldaway beds for the other children. The hotel never brought extra towels however and we had to make do with four. Not a great start.
The hotel itself is in a great location with fabulous views. The accommodation is basic and not quite as high quality as it appears on the website. The rooms in our apartment were quite small although the bed was comfortable and had lovely linen. The bathrooms were small and the shampoo/soaps rather mean. The pool is great and no one else used it when we were there.there was building work going on nearby which was noisy at times.
Overall it was ok but it felt like it could be so much better.
